If you’re in desperate need of a little chuckle this winter, then you’re in luck. The Milnerton Playhouse Theatre is showing a new production called ‘Let’s Murder Marsha’. This comedy-thriller will take to the stage over three consecutive weekends; Friday, 28 and Saturday, 29 July 2017, Friday, 4 and Saturday, 5 August 2017 and then finally Friday, 11 and Saturday, 12 August 2017.
The show chronicles the life and times of Marsha Gilmore, played by Alida van Niekerk. She leads a very plush life, but is addicted to reading murder mysteries, much to the irritation of her millionaire husband; Tobias Gilmore (played by Lee Speechly). One day she overhears her husband talking to her interior designer, Persis Devore (played by Petra Schiebe), and she convinces herself that they are planning to kill her. Hilarity ensues.

Watch as this cast of local actors tackle one of the most promising comedy shows this winter. They’ve billed Let’s Murder Marsha as a ‘comedy-thriller’, which sounds incredibly interesting. The idea of fusing the suspense and seriousness of a thriller with the humor and smiles of a comedy evoke images of Hot Fuzz (which everyone loves, obviously).
The organisers assure that the show as family friendly, so feel free to bring the little ones along. Watching a slightly deranged woman weave herself into a murder mystery plot of her own creation is definitely a treat that the whole family can enjoy. You won’t regret going to see how Marsha Gilmore cope with the curveballs this throws at her.
