Easy Outdoor Sunday Lunch At The Kraal

Take a chill pill on the last day of the weekend with The Kraal’s easy Sunday lunch special

We’re not sure if Lionel Richie had Sunday lunch in mind when he wrote “Easy Like Sunday Morning”. But the guys at The Kraal do, and they’re offering a relaxed Sunday lunch special all summer long.



WHAT AND WHERE IS THE KRAAL?
The Kraal is an exclusive eatery in a secluded venue, situated in a shaded, stone courtyard at Joostenberg Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. Slow Sunday lunches are served on wooden tables between fruit trees and wild olives next to the farm’s garden.



THE EATS AND TREATS
The Kraal serves a set three-course menu that changes weekly. They use local produce from the surrounding farms and seasonal veg and fruit from their own farm garden, with access to a wide variety of interesting fresh produce.
They also offer a range of organically produced wines from the vineyard at Joostenberg Estate, including some rare bottles from the small batch collection and specially kept older vintages. Menu updates are shared via social media.

SPACE IS LIMITED
Bookings are essential as they only cook enough food for the bookings made. R360 gets an adult in, R180 for children between 6 and 12, while kids 5 and under get in free. Book via email at kraalrestaurant@joostenberg.co.za or on the phone at 079 641 1320.



AND THERE’S MORE
If the week was long and you’re stuck for supper ideas on a Friday evening, The Kraal also has a Friday Supper Club. It runs from 18:30 to 19:30 and the menu and drinks follow the same guidelines as Sunday lunch. The supper club runs for a set amount of dates though. Those dates are: 11 January, 25 January, 8 February, 22 February 2019, 8 March and 22 March. R230 gets an adult in, under 12's pay R100, under 5's get in free.
