It’s strawberry season at Redberry Farm on the Garden Route

Get lost in a maze, go strawberry picking or spend a weekend away at Redberry Farm

Redberry Farm in George has re-opened its strawberry fields to visitors. Bring the family for a day of trail runs, strawberry picking, mini train rides, pony rides, bunny feeding or even a weekend getaway. Plus, if you're up for it, grab a buddy and get lost in the largest permanent hedge maze in the Southern Hemisphere. 

RUN IN A FIELD OF STRAWBERRIES FOR CHARITY
Every month you can run 5km in and around the bright, fresh strawberry fields at Redberry Farm. Entrance is R20, and all the proceeds will go towards supporting a local charity. To ensure social distancing, you can start the run at your own time between 8:30, and 11:30am. Look out for the race indicators which will guide you from Redberry Fountain all the way through the strawberry fields. 

THE DAY ISN'T OVER YET
There's still a lot more fun to be had. Take the rest of the afternoon off and explore all the activities that Redberry Farm has to offer. Lucky for us, berry season has just begun, and the strawberries are huge, bright red and sweet, just ripe for the picking. 

LET THE KIDS RUN WILD
The Farm also has a ton of fun activities for the little ones. Let the kids pick their transport of choice and explore the Farm on the mini train or a pony ride. They could also pay a visit to the berry bunnies or race around in the go-carts. 

GET LOST IN A GIANT MAZE
Venture a little further in, and you'll find the largest permanent hedge maze in the Southern Hemisphere. Keep your eyes peeled for the maze's seven strawberry stations and the start of an underground tunnel. When you reach the look-out point in the middle of the 10 kilometres of pathways, climb to the top to get one of the best views of the farm. 

HAVE A STRAWBERRY-INSPIRED LUNCH
Parents, give your legs a break and park off at The Red Shed or Tea Garden for lunch. Both restaurants serve up a range of strawberry inspired meals and drinks to enjoy. A popular dish at The Red Shed is the chicken strips with chips and a side sauce of their sweet chilli mayonnaise. 

Did you even visit a strawberry farm if you didn’t have a strawberry-inspired cocktail? Treat yourself to a refreshing Berry Jam Jar, a classic Strawberry Daiquiri, a Strawberry Mojito or their decadent Strawberry Rosé Gin Fizz.
