Fondly known as the ‘People’s Festival’, the Cape Town Jazzathon is back with an eclectic musical line-up at the V&A Amphitheatre, running from 9-12 January 2020. And the best part? It’s free to attend.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE CAPE TOWN JAZZATHON
As usual, the programme will be jam-packed with emerging artists as well as the customary women in jazz segment. The lineup is yet to be confirmed but you can expect more than 20 live bands and over 200 musicians performing over the four days. There will also be music workshops and industry panel discussions.
In the past musicians such as Camillo Lombard, Allou April, Judith Sephuma, Jimmy Dludlu, and Women Unite have played at the Jazzathon, and went on to become household names while inspiring others to follow in their footsteps.
