Spooky season is here! It’s that one time of year where not everything is as it seems… but one thing we know is your Halloween plans are sorted. From a historic ghost tunnel tour and a hauntingly elegant beach party, to a goth rock show and a zombie parade, we’ve got all your eerie adventures around the city covered.
SPOOKY BEACHSIDE PARTY
Sexy Groovy Love is throwing a hauntingly elegant Halloween soirée at Cabo Beach. Expect headliners like Culoe De Song, FKA Mash, Michael Mayer, and SONA. This year there’s even special takeovers from Tropical Roast, known for their magical warehouse parties, and Folks, famous for bringing feel-good grooves.

GOTH ROCKERS HALLOWEEN SHOW
Legendary South African goth rockers, No Friends Of Harry, are performing at Woodstock Brewery. Their debut album, One Came Running, reached No. 4 on the national charts, securing their status of fame. DJ Squeek and Lukin’ Joshua will open the night with nostalgic goth hits. Costumes are a must, and band merchandise will be on sale.

FAMILY-FRIENDLY ZOMBIE PARADE
Zombie Walk is a pet and family-friendly parade of the undead. This walk supports the Lucky Lucy Foundation, which helps abused animals. It starts at Company’s Garden and winds through to the V&A Waterfront for an afterparty. The afterparty will have live performances, DJs, and themed food and drinks. Come dressed in full zombie attire.

HISTORIC GHOST TUNNEL TOUR
Good Hope Adventures takes you through a 222-year-old historic fort, with secret passages, bunkers, and underground chambers. You’ll hear stories of strange occurrences from Fort Wynyard’s long history. A torch is handy, and after the tour, refreshments at the Sergeant’s Den. Good Hope Adventures also offers a variety of themed tours beyond their tunnel experiences.

HAUNTED HOUSE WALKTHROUGH
At Noordhoek Riding Club, you can take a spooky guided walk through a haunted house. There’s also A Trick or Treat walk for kids, jumping castles, pumpkin bowling, and a photo booth. Make sure to arrive by 5pm so you don’t miss the start of the walk. All ticket proceeds go to the Noordhoek Pony Club.

COMMUNITY NIGHT WALK IN KIRSTENHOF
On Fright Night, Kirstenhof Crime Watch is hosting a community night walk through the suburb. Expect a fire dance performance, a walk through the Tunnel of Doom, and treats like boerewors rolls, coffee, ghost breath (candy floss), and popcorn. Families can also pitch in by contributing sweets for the trick-or-treaters.

COSTUME PARTY AT THE VILLAGE IDIOT
Thursday SA is hosting a Halloween Takeover costume party, and this time, it’s for everyone, not just singles. The party takes place at The Village Idiot, with Halloween-themed cocktails, costume contests, and live DJs. Grab a wristband at the door to show your relationship status: Green for single, red for taken, and yellow for “it’s complicated.”

HAUNTED HOTEL & BAR EXPERIENCE
The No-Tell Hotel at Mavericks Revue Bar is a thrilling experience with immersive shows and themed rooms. The venue will be transformed into a hotel haunted by coven witches, wicked nurses, and midnight maids. Expect live DJs, a best-dressed contest, a photo booth with props, and complimentary drinks for the first 50 guests.

DAY OF THE DEAD AT FABLE
The iconic fable is bringing Day of the Dead to life with a live DJ and mariachi band, a fire-breathing performance, and tequila and cocktail specials. Guests can come as themselves or dressed as their alter ego. Highlights of the one-day-only themed menu includes burnt white chocolate sponge with lime mousse and spiced pineapple, and spicy margarita cocktails with jalapeño and lime.
