Raise your glass to toast the annual Gugulethu Wine Festival at the bustling Gugulethu Sports Stadium from Friday 6 – Sunday 8 November 2015.
With a bigger and better line-up of wineries this year, the vino fiesta gives visitors the chance to sample varietals and vintages from all over the Western Cape, tantalise their taste buds with gourmet dishes at the various stalls or whet their palate at the food and wine pairing sessions.
More concretely, attendees can look forward to an all-out party as Gugs goes glam and amps up the festive ambiance. The pouring is liberal, the crowd comes dressed to impress and the shisa nyama (as well as other fare) goes down a dream.
The mission of the wine-inspired celebration is to create an appreciation of wine, educate red and white drinkers and give wineries in the Western Cape access to an ever-expanding community of vino lovers. There’ll be 60 wines to sample, along with an SAB Miller marquee if beer is more your thing and a BOS marquee for those with a penchant for iced tea.
Aside from featuring just the proverbial swish and swill, the festival line-up is brimming with activities such as cooking demonstrations, specialty beer tastings, masterclasses in wine and beer appreciation and an exclusive car display. No Gugs razzle would be complete without some soulful sounds to get the good vibes going, so there’ll be a constant flow of musicians and DJs to provide good mood-inducing music. VIP guests will additionally have access to the chic VIP tent sponsored by Jameson Irish Whiskey, Absolut Vodka and Mumm Champagne.
If you’re a glamorous lady with an eye for fierce threads then make sure you enter the Best Dressed Woman competition to stand the chance to win R30 000! Whether you’re after top-notch beats, exceptional vinos, scrumptious treats or just a jolly good jol, the Gugulethu Wine Festival is a calendar highlight and well worth supporting.

Tickets are available via Computicket.com or at the door on the night and cost R120p/p per night. VIP tickets cost R450p/p. This is a strictly over 18s event and IDs will be checked.
