Raise a glass (or five) to celebrate the beginning of the festive season with the return of the Franschhoek ‘Magic of Bubbles’ Cap Classique and Champagne Festival in the picture-perfect Winelands valley from Saturday, 2 to Sunday, 3 December 2017.
In honour of all things deliciously effervescent, the annual soiree on the lush lawns surrounding Franschhoek’s iconic Huguenot Monument offers nothing but the best bubbly from wineries in and around the area.

Following the success of last year’s festival, this year’s event promises a similar array of sensational South African bubbles, complemented by a smorgasbord of delicacies concocted by the local restaurants in the area. Guests can expect fine vintages from some of the country’s most loved producers, including Pierre Jourdan, Morena, Moreson, La Motte, Boschendal, JC Le Roux and others.
Since Franschhoek is one of the world’s premier culinary destinations, guests can anticipate the most mouth-watering morsels to go hand in hand with the sparkling drinks. Establishments such as Le Franschhoek and Huguenot Fine Chocolates will be there to spoil fair-goers with their gourmet goodies. As always, everyone is encouraged to come decked out according to the theme – this year it’s black and white with a ‘splash of summer’.

There couldn’t possibly be a better way to embrace the good-time season than by enjoying a few glasses of refreshing bubbles and nibbling on gourmet creations in the breathtakingly beautiful Franschhoek valley. If you’ve never had the privilege of a Western Cape summer, then this is the perfect way to get a sense of what a truly unforgettable experience it is.
