Whisky and wine are amongst Cape Town’s most beloved drinks, so this May; celebrate with fellow connoisseurs and aficionados by sampling some of the best examples the world has to offer. The soirée will be held at African Pride 15 on Orange Hotel, Autograph Collection and gets underway on Friday, 6 May 2016 at 6pm.

The Wade Bales Wine & Malt Whisky Affair is a sophisticated gathering for people who truly appreciate the process and craftsmanship that goes into a well-balanced whisky or glass of wine. Be one of the lucky few that can say they have sampled over 100 of the world’s best wines, and 50 of the finest t whiskys to grace our lovely planet.  

Returning favourites from last year’s event include The Balvenie, Bunnahabhain, Bruichladdich and The Macallan. The true whisky enthusiast will jump at the opportunity to meet and learn from the founder of Wolfburn, Harry Tayler. Harry has pledged to re-awaken the soul of Scotland’s rugged North Shore, and his single malt whisky is expected to be ready for tasting this year! Be the first to taste the true spirit of wild Scotland from the comfort of our lovely city. 

Including the world-class beverages, there will be an array of gourmet cheeses, an antipasti deli and various types of artisanal bread for you to enjoy (and to absorb all of that alcohol). No event is complete without delicious food and drinks, and this one has the very best of both worlds.

Master Classes in Whisky and Wine will be presented on the night with talented craftsman of both in attendance. This is a true opportunity to gain unique insight into the secrets of the grape and the grain. There is a nominal fee of R20p/p, per class.

Listen out for the ‘half-time’ bell, as its ringing signals a very special opportunity. When the last chime goes, a selection of rare and limited edition single malts will be on display for tasting and general enjoyment, but only for 15 minutes. Miss the bell, and miss all the fun!

Included in the ticket price is entrance to the event, a complimentary tasting glass, and a selection of foods (gourmet cheese, antipasti deli and artisanal breads).
