Tokara Winery, nestled on the crest of the Helshoogte Pass in Stellenbosch, celebrates the launch of its new wine vintages with the Wine Made Art Festival running from Wednesday 7 September to Sunday 11 September 2011.
On Thursday 8th September and Friday 9th September, the public is invited to come and enjoy a 4-course meal prepared by chef Richard Carstens and paired with the new vintage Tokara wines.
The festival has grown out of the annual Wine Made Art event, created six years ago to encourage new and creative methods of incorporating wine experience in art. The Wine Made Art exhibit 2011 will feature works produced by students of the Mari Stander School of Art using the theme ‘Textures of Tokara’ – instead of paint the students used the 2009 Tokara Shiraz as the medium.
Times: weekdays from 09:00 – 17:00 | weekends 10am – 15:00
Explore the award winning winelands of the cape from the wine producing powerhouses to the wine boutiques; they are the ideal place to spend a Saturday or Sunday in the countryside. What’s more is that the Cape’s wine estates also host some of the best events – such as the Riebeck Valley Shiraz and Art Festival, The Robertson Wine On River and the Nederberg Concert Series.
