The Parlotones carbon free concert at the Grand Arena

Making music, making forests, not making pollution.

SA’s much loved rock band, the Parlotones, will be performing their signature brand of anthemic rock at the Grand Arena in Grandwest this August. The show will of course have the South African sound we’ve all come to love but with a greener tinge.

Green not as in ‘that pizza has been in the fridge for three months’ kind of green but the good kind; raising awareness and funds for a sustainable, tangible and realistic project aimed at keeping earth from becoming a gigantic sauner.

The Parlotones have been chosen as the star power behind the CarbonWorx Carbon free campaign, which in partnership with SABC3 steers a project which reforests areas with indigenous trees.

This exceptionally simple yet clever initiate allows all South Africans to play an active role in combating threats to the environment ( therefore threats to us too).

R150 allows you to choose a tree on the Carbonworx website which is then planted in an area to be reforested. Once registered you will receive GPS co-ordinates and literally watch your legacy grow.

The current project at the Hegebe site has already brought biodiversity and jobs to an area previously barren - both in terms employment and wildlife.
