The Imhoff Crush

Finally a totally kid friendly wine festival!

The number of wine festivals in the Cape is rivaled only by the number of people attending that had to get a babysitter. Finding someone to mind the little ones is not always the easiest task, and Imhoff Farm understands that. On Saturday, 11 February 2017, Imhoff Farm is hosting the annual Imhoff Crush for all ages to enjoy.

On the day, there will be wine in abundance, food a plenty and space for the little ones to run. Imhoff Crush is hosting 25 wine farms which brings the total number of wines on offer to more than 100. That is a lot of wine; even for Cape Town standards. Whether you’re a Sauvignon Blanc lover or you’re a fan of the Merlot, this event has them all in excess.

Nothing goes better with wine than food, and so the organisers have made sure that your every want was catered for with their selection of food vendors. The restaurants at Imhoff Farm will be open for the entire festival (and into the evening) for you to grab some delicious eats to go along with your fabulous wine yield. They have even agreed to waver their corkage fee on the day so you can enjoy one of the wines you just purchased at cellar costs. Imhoff Crush has a liquor licence that means you can buy the wine and both consume at the venue or take it home to enjoy at another time. It’s a double-whammy!

At this event, kids won’t just be tolerated, they will be catered for. A paradise of games and activities await your mini-me’s so make sure they’re wearing comfy clothes and lots of suncream because they’re not going to want to stop having fun for a single second. They can get their face painted, visit the petting zoo, have a climb on the jungle gym or (for the older ones) get in a game of paintball at the nearby range.

The event works thus; entrance is free for all ages but there is the option to buy a tasting passport that will give you access to all the wines on offer for tastings. This passport will set you back a measly R150p/p, and you’ll have an unlimited supply of wine tastings at your fingertips. The sounds of the hugely talented one-man band - Ryan Kidwell will further enrich the day by entrancing you with his impressive musical talents.

TICKETS FOR THE 2017 IMHOFF CRUSH AT IMHOFF FARM IN KOMMETJIE

Entrance to this event is free, but the cash passports are avaiable online from Quicket.co.za for R150p/p. The festival is open from 11am to 5pm and the restaurants at Imhoff Farm will be open into the evening. Please note that there are only 750 passes available and you must book them online ahead of time to avoid disappointment.
