South African singing sensation Belinda Davids has received rave reviews for her show-stopping performance of decades of hits from the one and only Whitney Houston, and now she and the accompanying cast from The Greatest Love of all – The Whitney Houston Show will be lighting up the Artscape Opera House in Cape Town from Wednesday, 8 April until Sunday, 19 April 2015.

The tribute show has enjoyed fantastic international acclaim, and Davids’s strong delivery and local roots set it on the path to becoming a runaway success in the Mother City as well.

Expect drama, charm, class, and unparalleled musical aptitude. Above everything else, this spectacular show aims to recognise the talent and presence of Whitney Houston by dedicating two and a half hours to reliving her most popular hits. Her best loved songs have been chosen from various chapters in her prestigious 29-year career and will be delivered by Davids, who will be accompanied by a live band and dancers. 

Showtime Australia, the management company behind the show, spent over 12 months perfecting the production and finding their lead singer. They visited 12 countries and conducted more than 15,000 auditions before settling on Port Elizabeth darling Belinda Davids as their star.

The show is dedicated to doing Houston justice and attention to detail is evident in the calibre of the performance. Houston fans will not be let down and will be able to croon along to all their favourites, including ‘How Will I Know’, ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody’, ‘Where Do Broken Hearts Go’, ‘Didn’t We Almost Have it All’, ‘I’m Every Woman’, ‘Exhale’, ‘Step by Step’ and ‘I Will Always Love You’. Belinda Davids is a talented singer with a longstanding, successful career as a solo-recording artist, supporting act and backing vocalist. What separates her performance is her obvious, inherent love for Houston’s music, which is evident in her own work and comes through strongly throughout The Greatest Love of All. Davids grew up in Port Elizabeth, listening to Houston’s albums and echoing Whitney’s style not only in her musical taste, but also in the way she dressed and even her hairstyle. She is a true Houston fan through and through, and she uses each of her performances to pay homage to her idol.

TICKETS FOR THE 2015 GREATEST LOVE OF ALL WHITNEY HOUSTON TRIBUTE SHOW IN CAPE TOWN

Tickets are available from Computicket.com and range from R125p/p to R290p/p in price depending on the seats you select. There are also discounted rates available if you book for families of four or more, or for a group of 10 or more people. The show takes to the stage from Wednesday to Sunday during its 11-day run and starts at 8pm on all running days except Sunday, when it starts at 6pm.
