Take a trip back to the twenties with an interactive staging of the world-famous novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald, ‘The Great Gatsby’, held at Spier wine estate in Stellenbosch from Tuesday, 20 November to Monday, 31 December 2012.
‘The Great Gatsby’ tells a hedonistic tale of mysterious millionaires, undercover criminal activities and sordid love affairs. Now, audience members can relive the extravagant parties of the time thanks to Spier’s elaborate outdoor dinner theatre show, where guests play a part as characters mingle with the viewers. What’s more, the estate will serve a menu inspired by the opulent era depicted in the novel, along with some of their finest wines.
So, get ready for an exhilarating evening of live swing jazz, foxtrots and Charlestons on the sprawling lawns of this historic farm. Guests are encouraged to dress the part – think pearls, fringe dresses and dashing pinstripe suits.
Tickets for The Great Gatsby Show at Spier Wine Estate
Tickets for the show are available through Computicket.com and cost R630p/p; this price includes food and wine. Group bookings for five or more are priced at only R550p/p and a special New Year’s Eve show will set you back R1000p/p.
For more information, and to take advantage of the dinner, show and accommodation specials, contact Spier on +27 (0) 21 809 1101 or at reservations@spier.co.za.
Do note, this event will take place outdoors so bring along a blanket and warm clothes.
