If you’re more into something that requires a bit more energy than a leisurely romantic picnic this Valentine’s Day, then you need to enter the Blue Boost Tour de Stellenbosch road cycling race happening on Sunday, 14 February 2016 at Boschendal Estate. It’s also a great way to stay on track with those lofty New Year’s resolutions to be more active and enjoy more of the beautiful outdoors.
This year the tour celebrates its 26th birthday and promises participants a picturesque race with just the right amount of pleasure and pain. If you’ve never experienced this race and you’re a keen (and fit) cyclist, you definitely should. The view through the scenic villages and the winelands is breathtaking – in fact, you might also be gasping for breath for a different reason!
There are two routes to choose from. The longer one is definitely for more fit and experienced riders and is 108km in total. This race starts at 6:15am. The shorter route is 54km and starts at 7:30am. Both races start at Boschendal Wine Estate and finish at Pniel Primary School.
TICKETS FOR THE 2016 TOUR DE STELLENBOSCH CYCLE RACE
Be sure to enter online via Pedalpower.org.z as there will be no entries on site on the day. Registration will be on race day at La Rhone homestead, which is directly behind Boschendal Wine Estate, at 5:30am.
The entry fee is at R200p/p, while PPA members pay only R150p/p.
