High-end, choreographed burlesque cabaret
December is the start of the silly season and the beginning of all things outdoors-y. If seeing your favourite flicks or bands out in Mother Nature is up your alley, then the Garden Theatre Picnic Series at the Taal Monument in Paarl is for you. Check out all the musical and outdoor flick action happening from Saturday, 27 December 2014 to Friday, 20 March 2015.
Founded in 2011, the Taal Monument Garden Theatre Picnic Series has evolved into having live concerts to having the Picnic Flicks for the first time this season. The organisers behind this year’s event have created a family-friendly, fun-filled occasion , which makes it perfect for a summer outing.One of the event organisers, Jack Louw shared that this event was, ‘safe, fun and affordable, especially as people may bring their own baskets.’ All the proceeds from the summer picnic series are in aid of the Taal Monument’s children’s reading program.
The line-up including concerts from Afrikaans pop singer Bobby van Jaarsveld, hip-hop group Afrikaaps and rock goddess Karen Zoid.

TICKETS FOR THE 2015 TAAL MONUMENT GARDEN THEATRE PICNIC SERIES
Tickets will be made available from Computicket.com and from various Computicket outlets, as well as at the Taal Monument on the day. Entry prices vary between R40p/p and R130p/p. Those wanting to have a picnic before the show can arrive at 6pm to have their hearty packed picnics and get settled before the concerts. Those wanting to get picnic goodies at the event, can order beforehand from the Volksmond Coffee Shop at +27 (0) 21 863 2800.
