A beach in Soweto? This was the incredulous question in November 2003 when the first Spiced Gold Soweto Beach Party was held in Soweto.

The venue for the Soweto Beach Party is the Power Park Dam! Power Park Dam is an old cooling dam for the now decommissioned Orlando Power Station.

Orlando is a suburb of Soweto and lies in the centre of the township. Orlando is famous in the annals of South African history. So it was in this famous suburb of Soweto that the Soweto Beach Party has been held in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 growing in fame and popularity each year!

400 tons of beach sand are laid down, yachts are launched in the dam and a host of beach bars provide for the masses! 24 hours of music add to the seductive rhythm and vibe of Soweto Beach Party.

The 2007 Soweto Beach Party continues the tradition as the most unique and fun event in South Africa. No party has ever been as big or as wild as the party on the beach in SA's most famous place Soweto.

Laid back beach fun mixing it up with the vibe of Soweto! In its fifth year this event will be bigger and better and true to this years theme - Beach Bling Soweto style - we will be expecting everyone, and we mean everyone to showoff their best beach bling.

Eish its gonna sizzle with Soweto's hottest! The best beach bling will win exotic beach prizes! Bling your party shoes, its gonna go on till dawn!

And that's what's new, what's normal is 400 tons of soft shiny beach sand, exotic beach babes, cool cold drinks on the beach, spectacular fireworks, sizzling music acts, sumptuous shisanyama's on the beach and the who's who of mzansi not to mention the Fabulous MC Fats fanning the flames!
