Fans of local legends and award-winning rock group Prime Circle are in for a treat when the five-piece band digs deep for a knock-out, rock-out show at the Hillcrest Quarry in Durbanville on Sunday, 27 October 2013.
After a whirlwind acoustic tour in Cape Town earlier this year, the band is back in the Mother City for this one-day, chilled out outdoor concert in the Northern Suburbs. Located at the heart of Durbanville’s wine valley, the Hillcrest Wine Estate’s unique venue, The Quarry, provides a scenic and beautiful setting to soak up frontman Ross Learmonth’s instantly recognisable vocals and the band’s iconic melodic rock tracks. The stage will positioned on the edge of the lake with rock cliffs as a backdrop, and concert-goers can pick prime spots on the sprawling greens.
Though the group hasn’t released anything new since November 2012, they boast more than a decade’s experience in the music industry and have captured the hearts of both local and international audiences alike. Aside from embarking on their own overseas tours, the fiery five-some has shared stages with icons like Queen, Annie Lennox and Metallica, and has also toured alongside American rock groups Alter Bridge and 3 Doors Down.
In just 11 years, Prime Circle has released 5 studio albums, 2 compilation records, 18 singles and 10 music videos and shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon.
Patrons can stock up on yummy treats from the on-site cash bar and visitors are encouraged to bring along blankets, cushions and low chairs for comfort (umbrellas will not be permitted).
Supporting act for the Prime Circle Concert at Hillcrest Quarry
The opening act for the Prime Circle concert in Durbanville is Cape Town band McCree. The four-piece group includes frontman and guitarist Mark McCree, bassist Lorne McGregor, guitarist and keyboardist Tristan Carmichael and drummer Richard Brodrick, was formed five years ago and is regarded by some as “South Africa’s next big thing”.
Needless to say, rock and music lovers are in for a treat at this Sunday afternoon concert.

Tickets for the show are available via Computicket.com and Computicket outlets and cost R150p/p for general access and R250p/p for golden circle tickets. Doors open at 12:30pm and the first act goes on stage at 2pm.
