Plan to be at Kirstenbosch this New Year's Eve when the Kirstenbosch and Drostdy-Hof New Year's Eve concert sees Loading Zone and Johnny Clegg sing farewell to 2010 and usher in 2011 on Friday 31 December 2010.
Loading Zone
Cape Town band Loading Zone will entertain the audience from 20h30 with party music that everyone will recognize. This band started as backing band for the late Brenda Fassie and have worked with a host of prominent musicians including the late Miriam Makeba, the Congolese international star Papa Wemba, Jimmy Dludlu, Judith Sephuma, Loyiso Bala, and many more.
At 22h30 Johnny Clegg takes the stage. Clegg is a dancer, anthropologist, singer, songwriter, academic, activist and French knight. Whilst all of these tags are fitting, none of them can accurately describe the energetic, passionate human being who has become one of South Africa's greatest musical exports.
Bringing the Scatterlings of Africa together has made Johnny Clegg one of the most loved of all South African musicians and with his blend of Zulu and English he will be playing the crowds to perfection.
Booking for this concert is essential (booking will close after the first 5000 tickets are sold). Seating is unreserved and on the lawn.
To book, please telephone the Kirstenbosch ticket office or book online through www.webtickets.co.za.
