Mandela Day Full Moon Beach Walk

Walk the beach and connect the DOTs to celebrate Madiba

Why not celebrate Mandela Day (Monday, 18 July 2016) by the light of the full moon with other lovely like-minded souls and the lull of the mellifluous waves? From 6pm on, walkers will gather at Big Bay /Eden on the Bay to commence a 67 minute stroll along the sand.

There’s no entry fee to take part, but attendees are encouraged to bring a donation for the Do One Thing (DOT) box. Cape Town Beach Cleanup and Clean C aim to distribute 1000 of these boxes to kids around Cape Town, so if you want to make a difference, bring one of the following in a bag (no box packaging necessary): a bar of soap, facecloth, toothpaste, toothbrush, colouring in book, crayons/colouring in pencils and buff/head scarf. Alternatively, make a donation to help the team to top up the DOT Boxes when necessary.

Along the way, walkers are also asked to participate in a beach clean-up to keep our gorgeous seaside spotless. If the weather refuses to cooperate, the walk might be moved to the 19th or 20th of July, so check the Facebook event for updates.

TAKING PART IN THE 2016 MANDELA DAY BEACH WALK AND CLEAN UP

It’s free to take part but please remember to bring your donation for the DOT box. Meet at 6pm at Big Bay at the wooden walkway opposite Moyo, and bring along the whole family including your fur children! For more information call +27(0)82 873 1962 or email greg@cleanc.co.za.
