Lourensford Harvest Market

Shop, have fun and spread the love this festive season at this majestic market.

Bring your children and fur-children to this family friendly festive affair in the Cape Winelands. The annual Lourensford Harvest Market is a Christmas calendar highlight, which is happening this year from Friday, 4 December to Sunday, 6 December 2015.

With an array of gorgeous hand-crafted gifts on offer, this is the ideal opportunity to do a spot of shopping, thus skipping the Christmas chaos at shopping malls around the city. Soak up the scenic surrounds of the estate and relax and enjoy some downtime with your family and friends. Aside from the arts, crafts and gifts, there’ll also be some scrumptious foods available, inspired by traditional Christmas fare.

This year, Lourensford is asking market-goers to bring a special gift to put under the tree. The team is requesting visitors to donate presents for kids of all ages, which they’ll distribute to little ones via the Halli Trust and the Masikhule non-profit organisation before Christmas Day. They’d like to hand out at least 500 gifts to disadvantaged children who wouldn’t necessarily get spoiled otherwise, so it’s definitely a worthy cause to support. Gifts can include stationery, toiletries or grocery packets, but please don’t include perishable items.

Remember there’ll also be a sunset trail run and a kids trail run (5km) on Saturday, 5 December 2015. Kids (and kids at heart) are encouraged to dress up as there will be a prize for the best festive-inspired outfit.

Bring your pet reindeers (or your dog), your kids, grandparents, friends and anyone else keen to come along – and remember your present to share some love this season.
