Thursday nights at East City's ...
From jazz to rock to techno and Funk First Thursdays
Make a date with delicious Klein Karoo cuisine paired with regional wines and complimented by the classical sounds of, amongst others, A Mozart Clarinet Concerto by Matthew Reid, the Myos Ensemble - arias and improvisations for soprano - organ & trumpet by Marianne Serfontein, Zorada Temmingh and Michael Blake.
Klein Karoo potters, painters and other visual artists such as Thijs Nel will exhibit in various venues and there will also be practical painting workshops.
Festival goers will also be privileged to experience popular soprano Zanne Stapelberg during an amphitheatre production on Sunday afternoon with backdrop of the Swartberg Mountains and the landscape of the Little Karoo.
Other performances which should create great interest are four performances in the majestic Roman Catholic Church with its unique acoustics.
Festival goers may also look forward to a concert with soprano Marianne Serfontein, award-winning organist Zorada Temmingh and trumpet player Michael Blake, as well as popular classical guitar music by James Grace on Sunday morning.
For lovers of good food and good wine, taste sensations and experiences are on the cards like never before. Various local restaurants and wine cellars from the Little Karoo have become involved in the festival with exciting offers.
Visitors will be afforded the opportunity of tasting ostrich, lamb and veal dishes, local cheeses and chocolate, olives and wonderful wines!
Lovers of visual arts can also choose from a variety of art exhibitions and outdoor arts experiences during which participants will be able to enjoy the beautiful surroundings, paint and have a picnic. The art exhibitions include paintings and ceramics by the internationally acclaimed artist Thijs Nel, as well as works by various other contemporary and local artists.
A weekend of exquisite classical music, and brilliant regional food and wines await everyone this winter!
