Stay in a luxury guesthouse and learn about more than 1200 flower species

Updated 5 July 2019

Imagine waking up to witness an arid landscape transforming into a blossoming kaleidoscope of natural colours. All while staying in a luxury West Coast guesthouse on a national heritage site, just off the banks of the Berg River.

OVER 1200 SPECIES IN BLOOM
This slice of heaven is what you get when you go on a Wild Flower Safari.

Between mid-August and mid-September the spring flower season kicks into gear and a plethora of wild blooms open to the warm West Coast sun. The rainfall has been good in the Western Cape, so the scene should be more spectacular.

A team of renowned conservation and biodiversity experts will be on hand to share insights into the 1200+ species of the Cape Floral Kingdom, showing off in the field along the river.

WATCH: A TRULY UNIQUE CAPE WILD FLOWER EXPERIENCE
You know what we mean. This one-of-a-kind experience:

A CELEBRATION OF SPRING
The Wild Flower Safari venue is an 18th-century Cape Dutch farm called Kersefontein, situated 150km outside Cape Town. It is arguably one of the best places to experience the spring flower season and has hosted many notable guests, including Nelson Mandela and Graca Machel.

Each wildflower safari comprises two nights and three days and Kersefontein is giving exclusive access to just 12 guest per date, allowing you to really appreciate the tranquility of the experience.

EXPERT GUIDANCE, RICH EXPERIENCE
To ensure a quality and unforgettable experience, you’ll have the benefit of being led by a team of experienced professionals, including team leader Helen Preston of the SA National Biodiversity Institute and Dr Giselle Murison, Project Manager for the Western Cape Estuaries Conservation Project at the SA branch of Bird Life International.
