Flavours of Winter Festival at Muratie Estate

Get toasty with port-style wine, rich chocolate and soulful winter eats at one of the Cape’s oldest wineries

Get cosy this winter at a mellow celebration of Cape port-style wines at the historic Muratie Estate in Stellenbosch, when they host the Flavours of Winter Festival on Saturday, 29 July 2017. With open log fires and succulent port wines on the cards, this event is sure to warm you from the inside out.

Lovers of the rich and oh-so-sweet grape-based beverage are invited to sip and sample the Cape’s ports and wines, while they tuck into tasty savoury treats prepared by the Muratie Estate’s Farm Kitchen. The complimentary flavours of the food and wine will certainly live up to the festival’s name, and nothing accompanies port better than gourmet foods.

Muratie Estate is the perfect venue for this festival, as they have a rich heritage that dates back as far as the 1600s. They have been producing succulent port wines since the 1940s, and a trip to the farm will take you back in time. The grand oak trees, old buildings and intriguing stories from the estate’s past, combined with the warm and honest hospitality, makes this venue ideal for a winter gathering in celebration of our region’s finest produce.

If you find a wine that you fancy, and can picture relaxing on a comfortable couch with a big glass of the drink, then you can purchase a bottle to take home at cellar door prices. Make the most of this cold and wet winter and stock up at the festival.
