FIFA and Control Room have announced the first performing artists for the inaugural FIFA World Cup™ Kick-Off Celebration Concert, that is scheduled to begin at 20:00 on 10 June 2010.
Alicia Keys, Amadou & Mariam, Angélique Kidjo, Black Eyed Peas, BLK JKS, John Legend, Juanes, Shakira, The Parlotones, Tinariwen, Vieux Farka Touré and Vusi Mahlasela will take to the stage on the eve of the opening match of the first FIFA World Cup™ on African soil. Further talent announcements will follow.
All net proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Official Campaign of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™. 20 Centres for 2010’s aim is to achieve positive social change through football by building 20 centres across Africa that offer education and healthcare services, as well as football training to disadvantaged communities.
Tickets for this once-in-a-lifetime concert can be purchased either online at www.computicket.com or by telephone on + 27 (0)83 915 8000.
Tickets are priced per person at R450 for Outer Circle standing | R650 for Inner Circle standing | R850 – R950 for Upper Level seated | R1150 for Lower Level seated. Ticket prices include VAT, Computicket charges and Park & Ride for all ticketholders.
