Tickets for kids from R10! And you can bring your own food
The warm season presents balmy nights and the perfect time to appreciate easy listening and relaxation in beautiful settings. And now jazz lovers can rejoice as acclaimed songstress-pianist Estelle Kokot will be bringing her talents to Durbanville’s Villa Pascal on Friday, 9 January 2015.
Less than avid fans may recall her as the lead vocalist in popular 80s chart-topping jazz fusion group Rush Hour, but those who know her work will be able to vouch for her as a skilled solo artist with a melodic voice and the ability to set the keyboard alight.
Making her stage debut at the famed Johannesburg institution Kippies International Jazz Club in 1987, Estelle quickly established herself as a musical artist to be reckoned with, performing with the likes of the late Victor Ntoni, amongst others.
Since then, her sultry tunes and unforgettable vocals have landed her much acclaim in both the international and local jazz scene.
Fans can look forward to hearing original material from her previous albums, like 2012’s South African Music Award-nominated Information, as well as choice standards and Brazilian renditions.
Estelle has just recently recorded her album The Sound of You while touring South Africa, and fans can hear some of her latest numbers live and up close.
So get your summer threads out and have a warm summery night listening to some jazzy tunes in this Durbanville gem.
