A layered story of South Africa’s musical traditions
If buying local organic produce sounds like an ideal way to spend a Sunday, then pack a basket or two for this market with a difference. Organised by urban agriculture initiative Tyisa Nabanye, the popular ERF 81 Food Market brings its green fingers to the corner of Leeuwenvoet and Military roads in Tamboerskloof every second Sunday – the next event is scheduled for Sunday, 22 February 2015.
With a focus on promoting food security and sustainable livelihoods within Cape Town, Tyisa Nabanye grows organic crops on the slopes of Signal hill to sell at the ERF 81 Food Market.
Attendees can look forward to browsing stalls filled with tasty home-baked treats, rich roasted coffee and ripe and ready vegetables and herbs. And in addition to checking out the produce yield, keen gardners can also browse the seeds and seedlings on offer from this non-profit initative.
