December the 10th sees the second Durbanville Beer Festival which promises to build on the 1500 strong crowd it attracted in its inaugural installment. Expect more live bands, more beer stalls, more food stalls and because it’s a family event, more entertainment for the kids.
This year the event is held at Hillcrest Wine Estate’s awesome venue the Quarry. It’s an unused quarry with rolling lawns, sheer rock face and a crystal clear lake. The latter is of utmost importance because this year the NSRI is on board raising funds with an ‘anything that floats race.’
That means Homemade, muscle (and beer) powered craft with the maximum of six crew will compete on a demarcated course to become the 2011 Durbanville Beer Festival Champs. The safety of this event will be closely monitored by the Melkbos National Sea Rescue Institute and will benefit from all proceeds of this event.
Entertainment
Live Rock and Blues bands will keep all entertained with Rock ‘n Roll DJ’s keeping the crowd rocking throughout the day while rivers of beer will keep your thirsts quenched. Full bar facilities will be available throughout the course of the event.
This is also a great event for an end of year corporate event.
Tickets are availible through Computicket.
Don’t forget the Cape Town Bike Festival it’s going to be absolutely amazing – picture 30ft high back flips in the Cape Town Stadium.
