Drive-In Movies at Spier Wine Farm

Kick-start the spring season with old-school movies in a magnificent setting

Think you’ve exhausted every date night idea in the Mother City? Think again! What could possibly be more romantic than cuddling up under the stars, while watching a classic movie and munching delectable snacks at Spier Wine Farm’s drive-in movie nights? The next film is Dr. No – part of the timeless James Bond series – which will be screened on Saturday, 29 August 2015 at 7pm.

For those not in the ‘No’, Dr. No is one of 007’s timeless nemeses – a creepy, scientific genius set on the destruction of the US space programme. Will Bond (Sean Connery) triumph once again and defend the world from the forces of evil? We think he might.

If you suspect you may get a little peckish during your movie extravaganza, make sure you order a snack pack from Eight Restaurant’s pop-up deli. Perfect for two people, the tasty morsels include BBQ corn, rootstock crisps, angus beef biltong, sesame caramel nuts, speckled eggs and chocolate brownies. Of course, wine is also on offer so you can keep well lubricated whilst watching the action unfold.

TICKETS FOR THE 2015 DRIVE-IN SPIER EXPERIENCE

Tickets cost R250 per vehicle and can be purchased from Webtickets.co.za. Snack packs cost R180 and can be pre-ordered from Eight.

The movie starts at 7pm. Bring blankets, cushions and chairs so you can get nice and snug. Also, do remember that no private picnics are allowed.
