Situated between the coastal towns of Fish Hoek and Simon’s Town in the quaint suburb of Glencairn, The Southern Right Hotel has been a landmark on the False Bay coast for more than a century.
The hotel’s décor is simple yet effective, with warm minimalism creating a friendly, welcoming vibe as you enter the establishment.
In Flukes Restaurant, large framed 19th-century prints of seafaring vessels adorn the walls, with handmade wirework whales depending from the ceiling.
Flukes Restaurant specialises in serving up dishes that capture guests’ imaginations. Portions have been described as being “whale-sized” and not only tantalise taste buds, but are also aesthetically pleasing.

Starters: Lobster bisque with deep fried prawn tails OR, Duck breast salad on baby leaves with mango and cherries, dressed with a balsamic and port reduction
Mains: Turkey breast rolled and filled with traditional stuffing, wrapped in bacon, served with butternut snap peas and roast potatoes OR, Beef fillet with béarnaise sauce, grilled Mediterranean style veg and croquette OR, Linefish and Prawns, grilled and served on saffron savory rice with pan fried veg and a classic beurre blanc sauce
Desserts: Traditional Christmas pudding served with brandy flavoured custard OR, Crème Brule OR, Berry trifle flavoured with Amarula liqueur topped with whipped cream and nuts
