Celebrate with Bob Skinstad and the Bobs for Good team at their premier annual event to raise funds for children across South Africa without school shoes
The Bobs for Good Foundation - founded by Bob Skinstad and lifelong pal Ron Rutland - was born out of the need to resolve this overlooked issue and restore dignity and pride to South Africa’s neediest learners by giving them a simple gift of hope – a pair of quality leather, locally-made school shoes to care for and call their own.
Bobs for Good has an ambitious vision: “To provide every needy South African child, who has never known the joy and pride of owning their own school shoes, with a pair of quality, leather, locally-made school shoes, bringing dignity to themselves and their schools.”
Step by step, the Bobs for Good team are making a true difference to children across South Africa. The passionate and relentless team won’t stop until every child in this country walk to school with hope, pride and dignity. It’s that simple.
About the Spring Ball …
It started with Bob and Ron’s idea to bring friends and colleagues together in Johannesburg to have a small charity ball and to tell their guests about the Bobs for Good dream - to provide shoes for every child in South Africa who has to endure physical and social torment because their families cannot afford this luxury.
The event went down in history and helped spread the word of Bobs for Good, it also inspired guests to get out there and do more good for people less fortunate.
A year later and Bobs for Good has a dedicated team, a new office for 6 passionate staff, a successful fundraising campaign under its belt and importantly, there are nearly 7000 children walking proud in their new shoes, thanks to Bobs for Good.
With all the achievements and amazing people they’ve met on their journey, Bobs for Good decided to celebrate in style by hosting a 2nd annual charity Spring Ball.
This year Bobs for Good is bringing the Ball home to Cape Town - set in the lush Constantia Wine Valley, surrounded by the mountain and vineyards, the perfect setting to welcome in Spring - Simon’s at Groot Constantia was the undoubted choice to host the glitzy occasion,.
