"Meet and greet" with the crew of the Farley Mowat in Rafikis on KloofNek
The crew of the Farley Mowat recently chased a Japanese whaling fleet across the Antarctic Coast preventing them from killing a single whale.
We cordially invite you to a "meet and greet" with the crew of the Farley Mowat, the flagship of the sea shepherd conservation society. The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is a non-profit organization that acts under the United Nations World Charter for Nature to enforce international conservation law on the high seas.
The Captain and crew of the Sea Shepherd flagship, R/V Farley Mowat, have recently arrived in South Africa after 50 days at sea in the Antarctic Whale Sanctuary. All in all, the Farley Mowat crew chased the Japanese whaling fleet over 3,000 miles along the icy, treacherous Antarctic Coast, preventing the fleet from killing a single whale for more than fifteen days.
Now back on dry land, the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is focused on raising the necessary funds to purchase a faster ship to return to Antarctica next year and prevent the Japanese from reaching a quota that will include endangered humpback whales. This is your opportunity to meet with them, hear a little bit more about their campaign & ask any questions you might have.
