The Inaugural Ihlombe! South African Choral Festival which takes place internationally, will be visiting our Cape Town shores on 17 – 18 July 2009.
This festival is the biggest international choral gathering in South Africa. There are a total of 1050 participants, 6 concerts, 14 workshops and 14 choirs - all outstanding choirs form USA and South Africa.
The premise of the Ihlombe festival is to offer South African audiences an opportunity to hear the most diverse and exciting South African and American choral groups.
Each concert will have different choirs participating with their own music repertoire and conductors and will end with a South African piece learned at workshops and conducted by leading South African conductors.
