The June concert in the Backsberg Jazz Season features Van Hunks Experience
Backsberg’s Jazz Season runs from January to June 2009, featuring a different band on the last Friday of every month.
This month they round off their jazz season with: Van Hunks Experience.
This month they have their Jazz Season grand finale in the form of Van Hunks Experience. VHE are a group of experienced jazz veterans who produce an experimental lounge act with elements of electronica.
With unique innovations by composer and trumpeter Adriaan Brand (of Springbok Nude Girls fame), they have an original and surprising sound with operatic vocals or remixed choral and Mozart elements.
They will be preforming with renowned musician, Inge Beckman (of Lark fame), so expect a stylish and accessible performances - the likes of which you have never heard before.
Relax in the beautiful gardens – choose a table under the Oak trees, or bring a blanket to spread on the lawn.
Relax and enjoy our Backsberg’s delicious Mediterranean platters and Backsberg wines against the backdrop of fine jazz music.
The Backsberg Mediterranean Platters consist of:
Freshly baked Ciabata Bread filled with slices of Spit Roasted Lamb; Italian-style cured meats and delicious cheeses matched with preserves; Sun-dried tomatoes, olives, feta, and a trio of home-made dips served with savoury biscuits and farm-style bread; as well as seasonal fruit skewers.
Backsberg wines will be available for purchase as well.
