There are African drumming experiences, and then there’s Drumstruck. South Africa’s first authentic drumming-theatre experience has returned from Broadway to play limited shows in Cape Town at a most spectacular venue.
Whether you’re a music lover, a culture seeker or simply love a good party, you won’t want to miss Drumstruck at Silvermist Wine Estate this summer. The Cape Town shows are accompanied by an interactive wine tasting and are delighting audiences of all ages, from all walks of life.
The shows run daily from Tuesdays to Sundays. Image: Drumstruck
Drumstruck is a scaled-down version of the international production, which has been described as “STOMP meets The Lion King,” but it is no less spellbinding.
The show takes audiences on a journey through the musical heritage of southern Africa – from the first drum to the newest high-tech electronic instruments. The cast of Drumstruck use elements of storytelling, learning, showmanship and interactivity to get audiences out of their seats and beating their own djembe drum and singing along with the show.

“What an amazing show, from the first second till the last. Incredible talent, had us moving and grooving in our seats. A must see for all, we will definitely be back.”
“Stunning! Vibey! Musical! Interactive! Entertaining! This show is truly phenomenal!! Such a fun experience. My teens loved it!! Such a gifted bunch of performers who draw you into their story.”
“What a stunning place in a beautiful city. I loved the vineyard and Greg's high knowledge of wines. He was authentic and passionate during the wine tasting which made it a great experience. Then came Drumstuck and I was dumb struck by these talented people and the show they performed. The music, the energy, the interaction was all spectacular.”

Silvermist is the only organic wine estate in Constantia, surrounded by the Table Mountain nature reserve, and offers guests some of the most diverse and unspoilt terrain in the city, with uninterrupted views of the Cape Peninsula.
The Drumstruck interactive experience is preceded by a wine tasting presented by Silvermist winemaker Gregory Brink-Louw, who is a passionate farmer and a captivating storyteller, and who entertains audiences with tales of winemaking and the Constantia Valley.
Guests will savour a range of exclusive South African wines, including the rare Silvermist organic wines. There is also a child-friendly/non-alcoholic option, with a uniquely South African iced rooibos tea tasting.
