Started in 2016, the Doek On Fleek All White Picnic has seen thousands of women gather at events around the country for a picnic that doubles as an empowerment rally. In 2020 it’s finally making a stop in Cape Town on 1 February.
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE DOEK ON FLEEK PICNIC
Doek On Fleek is all about uniting and empowering women from across the country and the white theme signifies peace and unity among women. The goal is to bring women together to socialise and inspire one another with the help of some local influencers and speakers.
All of this will happen while relaxing on the lawn of the Maynardville Park in Wynberg on a picnic spot specially set up by a decor company. You have to bring your own picnic basket and drinks but there will be other stalls stocking accessories, beauty products, clothing and more.
HOSTING YOUR OWN ALL WHITE PARTY
Because not everyone can make it to the event, the organisers at Doek On Fleek want to encourage women to host their own all-white party. They’ll even assist with the marketing and logistics, if you contact them at cleo@doekonfleek.org.
TICKETS TO THE PICNIC
Getting into the event costs between R100 (early bird) to R200 (general admission) and R400 if you want a stall. All of this can be booked online at Computicket.
