Local Legend Barry Hilton to Hit Stage at Comedy in the Vines

Classic South African comedy in an iconic Winelands setting – what better way to spend a summer’s evening?

Comedy lovers rejoice; Comedy in the Vines have secured Barry Hilton for their December edition. Head out to Stellenbosch for a night of wine, food and home-grown hilarity when the local legend Mr Hilton appears on Saturday, 23 December 2017at Spier Wine Farm.  

Barry Hilton has quoted his comedic inspirations as Billy Connolly and Richard Pryor, which make sense when you consider his famous style mixes physical, observational and satirical comedy. Barry essentially takes conventional South African experiences and finds the funny in them.

Hilton was the first South African ever to perform at The Improv at Harrah’s Las Vegas, following in the footsteps of some of the greatest names in comedy in the world. In July 2013 Barry was awarded the Comics’ Choice Lifetime Achiever Award.

Next on Spier’s Comedy in the Vines line-up is Stuart Taylor in January and Marc Lottering in February, and no doubt these will be unmissable too. Each evening of summer comedy is complemented by food and wine from the estate. TICKETS TO THE 2017 COMEDY IN THE VINES AT SPIER

Comedy in the Vines with Barry Hilton starts at 6:30pm. Spier recommends that you arrive at 5pm to enjoy a drink on the lawn before the show starts. It lasts an hour with no interval. You can book your tickets at Webtickets.co.za and tickets cost R170 per adult. The picnic basket, which includes a bottle of Spier Signature wine, serves two and costs R550, but does not include tickets. The total cost for two tickets and a picnic basket is R900.
