Christmas for many means the (often painful) search for presents for not only the entire family, but also for friends. Here’s a fabulous idea: Fab Ideas is presenting its 9th Christmas Gift Fair, eleven days of festive spirit, games and holiday shopping.
It takes place from 6 December to 16 December at the Kommetjie Primary School.
THE HOLIDAY FUN'S BEEN EXTENDED
This year the fair's been extended to run over two weekends as well as during the week. On Fridays and Saturdays, doors are open from 9am to 7pm, and for the rest of the week, from 9 am to 5pm. Join the organisers for Christmas carolling (led by a community upliftment programme from Ocean View) on 7 December. Or bring the kids of 14 December for the Mini Mo Edutainment Show presented by the Cape Point Ostrich Farm and Reptile Rehabilitation Centre.
More for kids: there's a jumping castle everyday, and on weekends, try your hand at activities like Bubble Bumpers and Archery Attack.
THEY'VE GOT GIFT-SHOPPING DOWN PAT
Forget conventional shopping centres this festive season and give friends and family gifts made with love. Look out for vendors such as Needle Work by Jean for embroidered items, Crafting With Claire for handmade novelties, Niques Cookies (you'll find a variety of home bakes at the fair), and Mzansi Gifts that specialises in beach towels, picnic blankets, sun hats and beach bags. From decor to clothing to crafts to deli delights, you'll find it at the Xmas Gift Far. What's more, entrance is free and there are debit and credit card facilities.
