Breathing practices have remarkable benefits. They facilitate deep sleep and optimize your immunity by helping the flow of lymph fluid. Elongate the exhale in your daily breathing practice and you can help rid yourself of burnout and stress. Other practices can shift neural patterns in order to kick bad habits. You will learn all of this in the online monthly masterclasses by Breathwork Africa, a global leader in the field of conscious breathing.
Learning to breathe well can transform your life in so many ways. Image: Breathwork Africa
The two-hour classes (part lesson, discussion and practice) are facilitated by Breathwork Africa founder and integrative medical doctor and pioneer in the field of breathwork Dr Ela Manga (and other experts). She is also the author of Breathe: Strategising Energy in the Age of Burnout.
They take place at the end of the month, and the topics touch every aspect of health and wellness: “Breathwork and the vagus nerve”, “Breathwork and sleep”, “Breathwork and the lymphatic system”. “Burnout to breathwork” and “Breathing through grief” are up in the last half of the year.
Dr Ela Manga is an integrative medical doctor and the founder of Breathwork Africa.
And everyone and anyone can attend, attendees come from everywhere, from across Southern Africa, to the UK, US, France and Russia.
You’ll be in community with everyone, from dentists and doctors to yogis, writers, dancers, parents, educators and academics, because more and more people are waking up to an ancient truth: Breath is the thread that weaves it all together, science, spirituality, psychology, philosophy.
Breathwork practices can help integrate trauma and healing, and there are two masterclasses on exactly that.
Breath awareness (how you breathe) can be the simple path to joy, connection, contentment and healing. You’ll learn about regulating and balancing breathing practices, such as box breathing, that tone the “superhighway nerve”, which sends information to all your organs; why nose breathers have a better quality of life; and how conscious connected breathing can integrate trauma.
Anyone can access these classes on the online forum, which is offered globally. Image: Breathwork Africa
