South African celebrity chef Reuben Riffel opens a fine dining restaurant at One&Only Cape Town
Friday 1 October 2010 marks the opening of Reuben Riffel’s first urban restaurant at One&Only Cape Town. Riffel is one of South Africa's best loved celebrity chefs and plans to serves bistro fare, made from locally-sourced produce, at the Cape Town restaurant. We coaxed some insights from Reuben Riffel himself, ahead of the opening.
As we’re preparing to open, we’re looking forward to... welcoming Capetonians to sample our food and to enjoy our hospitality. Media response has been great and there’s already a good vibe.
We’ve called it... Reuben’s at One&Only Cape Town, because it’s a name people have come to know from Franschhoek.
When you walk into our space, you immediately... get the sense of South African style. We all enjoy feeling stylish and special now and again.
What makes us different to all the other restaurants in the area is... the selection on the menu, the extensive wine list and personalised service.
Our team... Maritz Jacobs and Aviv Liebenberg, is pleased to bring you... South African food using the best local ingredients and also showcasing what is grown and produced by passionate, hardworking South Africans.
Your taste buds will be delighted with our... chilli salt squid, steaks and fresh fish dishes because... we are working hard to find the freshest ingredients on a continuous basis.
We’d also suggest you try... our beautiful, delicious cocktails and the best of local wines, which will be presented by wine makers on a regular basis, from our drinks menu.
And your sweet tooth will be impressed by... our Malva with Amarula or our ginger cookie custard crumble with Hanepoot.
We would like to welcome... people from all walks of life who appreciate fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere.
We also cater for... functions of up to 120 people. We also offer a kiddies menu with some of the usual suspects and a few new surprises.

The main reason you should give us a try is... Our menu changes every second day and we will only keep the signature dishes constant, this is to ensure the menu stays fresh and the chefs are kept on their toes.
