Bennett Street Events Venue in Cape Town

Meet the Mother City’s new super-sized hospitality destination

As of late July 2013, what was once the opulent multi-level superclub Trinity, a space that offered Cape Town revellers a truly unforgettable nightlife experience, has morphed into a multi-dimensional events venue that’s now as likely to attract day walkers and corporate types as it is after-dark socialites and all-night merrymakers.

Launched under the new name Bennett Street, the large-scale Green Point complex, which is also home to the vibey African-themed GOLD Restaurant, still regularly runs electro and live music events under the Trinity arm, but is now first and foremost a hospitality destination set on offering something different.

“At events venues like the CTICC, you just get an empty shell,” explains Sales and Events Manager Rob Scrooby. “But here, everything is set up; there’s no need to bring in anything.”

That is, aside from boasting ambient lighting and a warm atmosphere, the trendy space’s expansive function room is fully equipped with a state-of-the-art sound system, screens and projectors, a well-stocked bar and all the other extras and accessories necessary to make anything from a year-end party or gala dinner to a fashion show or film shoot successful.

Not to mention, the hands-on Bennett Street team organises every aspect of the occasion, from décor and staff to entertainment and fare (food is typically catered for by the on-site GOLD Restaurant), so event hosts needn’t worry about sourcing a single thing.

“We’re involved from the quotation stage right through to completion,” asserts Operations Manager Ian Alexander, who insists on tailoring every affair to clients’ specific wants and needs. “So, it’s this personal touch that really sets Bennett Street apart.”

Pair this hands-on approach with the fact that the complex is such a large, multi-faceted space, and it seems the sky really is the limit for organisers of both intimate and grand gatherings.

In essence then, anyone who dares to dream big in the events world can now take great delight in the knowledge that there’s a new venue in town offering all the answers.

Tip: As Trinity, which is now a music brand, is still one component under the Bennett Street banner, the public can still watch this space for future live gigs and epic electro dance parties.

The Bill: Because the venue offers so much as part of one package, the price of venue hire here is actually rather reasonable. Interested parties can contact Rob Scrooby or Ian Alexander at events@bennettstreet.co.za to find out more about the specific costs involved.

Operating Hours: Bennett Street is available for hire 24 hours a day, all year round; GOLD Restaurant is open daily from 6pm to 11pm
