Bazique is part music festival, part art playground
Here, you don’t have to go hard to have a good time
Last updated: Tuesday, 27 January 2026
Bazique isn’t just a festival; it's a living, breathing art and music space. This experiential weekend returns from 6 to 8 March 2026 with four pulsing stages, giant installations by local artists, and a wellness field with workshops and yoga. Add glamping, a market, dancing along the river, and stargazing, and you’ve got a weekend like no other.

BLENDING MUSIC, ART & WELLNESS
Part music fest and part art playground, Bazique brings together creatives for three days where music, art, and wellness flow freely.
The festival collaborates with Sexy Groovy Love, Wolfkop Weekender, Shanti Wellness Festival, Tropical Roast, TropicalDISKO, Wash Records, Silent Events, Summer Camp, Cafe Caliente and Habitat, bringing their unique sounds and energy into the Bazique experience.
The venue is Buffalo Drift. It’s just outside Tulbagh, with different areas connected by pathways through trees, a river, and a sandy stretch where you can dance barefoot before taking a dip.

4 STAGES WITH DISTINCT SOUNDS
The River Stage, right along the water, is where WASH Records, Wolfkop Weekender, and Sexy Groovy Love will bring upbeat dance music all weekend.
Expect international DJs like Pavel Petrov and Rafael Cerato, famous for their sounds that blend house and tech. Another unmissable artist is Floyd Lavine, who fuses his South African heritage with Berlin’s industrial electronic sound.
New this year is the Elevate Stage, a collaboration between Summer Camp and Habitat. There’ll be sets from legendary psy-trance DJ Protonica from Berlin, and iconic local DJs like Headroom and Odisee.
There’s also the Tropical Roast Stage, which will lean into tech and house beats, with tropicalDISKO taking over on Sunday. And the Secret Circus Stage will have live music on Saturday. Think funky, experimental bands with a wild rock-and-roll energy.

IMMERSIVE ART INSTALLATIONS
Just as important is the art, with a focus on South African creators and installations made entirely locally. The artworks are spread across the festival, so wherever you choose to explore, you’ll stumble across something to admire.
Expect a mix of dazzling light installations and interactive works like a spinning wheel sculpture. Highlights include a spaceship installation, created by Joharra Hartly, and Reece Brice’s mushroom sculptures made from plastic collected on Kommetjie beach.

YOGA, SPA TREATMENTS & STARGAZING
Aside from music and art, there’s also a focus on mindfulness at the Shanti Wellness area.
Expect acrobatic yoga, elemental flow, sound journeys, singing circles, and workshops on energy detoxing. The wellness area also has a Little Day Dream Spa offering massages and treatments, and tarot readings available at Magikal Gem.
They’ve also introduced a non-alcoholic bar serving creative alcohol-free drinks. As night falls, there’s a large telescope where you are encouraged to go stargazing before heading back to the music.

MARKET & CHAMPAGNE TASTINGS
Beyond the stages and wellness area will be the market and food court, centered around a striking spire that doubles as a piece of art.
There are Champagne tastings, food trucks offering Indonesian dishes, pizza, halaal bites, burgers, fresh coconuts, waffles, and more.
Beyond food, the market also has artisanal goods like handmade jewellery, sustainable fashion, soy wax candles, and diffusers with vegan scents inspired by the seven chakras.
EXCLUSIVE BAR & LOUNGE FOR GLAMPERS
Since the festival is three days, it makes sense to stay over. The glamping area has its own lush field with parking right next to the tents.
The glamping area is exclusive, with a shaded bar and lounge, morning yoga sessions, and the option to book massages. You can also enjoy wine and Champagne tastings, or start the day with breakfast buns, wraps, gourmet coffee, or mimosas, all without leaving the glamping field.
Accommodation ranges from bell tents to dome tents, with prices starting at R1 200 per person for a ready set up tent. See the different glamping options at Bazique festival.
