A White Masquerade at The Roundhouse & Rumbullion

New Year’s Eve 007 Party at HQ Restaurant
Where do suave super-spies spend New Year’s Eve? At one of Cape Town city centre’s swankiest steakhouses, Headquarters (HQ) restaurant, of course! Party like there’s no tomorrow, with a night of dinner, dancing, shaken-not-stirred cocktails and mysterious men in suits. The cutting edge, single concept eatery (only sirloin, salad and dessert is on the menu) looks to lend the start of 2016 a heady dose of 007 sophistication, with booze, delicious food and a dessert that’s licenced to kill. A DJ will be stationed at the decks to drop killer beats, and a fully-stocked bar – Cubans included – will also be at your service. New Year's Eve at the V&A Waterfront
Welcome 2016 with a bang at the V&A Waterfront’s annual New Year’s Eve bash and stunning firework display. With a programme packed with live music and street performers, this is one of the biggest New Year’s parties in the city. Expect to be dazzled by colours and a carnival atmosphere, as jugglers, buskers, Zip Zap Circus performers and floats wow onlookers. There will also be live music performances from South African stars such as Jimmy Nevis and Chad Saaiman, as well as a variety of food trucks and caterers for those who work up an appetite during the celebrations.

Rezonance New Year’s Eve Trance Party Cape Town
Plunge into the new year with the big daddy of electronic dance music fiestas in the Mother City. That’s right folks, the much-anticipated psychedelic Rezonance NYE Festival, which is one of the biggest New Year’s trance parties in Cape Town, is back on the calendar to kick your 2016 into high gear. As always, the four-day jol goes down at Contermanskloof Farm in Durbanville, and organisers have scoured the country and the globe for only the hottest local psytrance, progressive, drum n bass, techno, chill and dub step acts – all of whom will drop beats across the four dance arenas from Wednesday, 30 December 2015 to Saturday, 2 January 2016. Expect camping out under the stars, stomping in the mud, overall fun, freedom and debauchery.

New Year’s Eve Bond Celebration at the Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa
It would appear that Mr Bond is having a serious comeback in 2015 as the chic Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa’s Azure Restaurant is celebrating the New Year with a 007-inspired extravaganza. Pay homage to the legend of Bond by ‘dressing to kill’ in black and red, and tucking into a decadent five-course dinner that would please the sexy spy himself. The mouth-watering menu includes Mozambican langoustine, Joostenberg duck, Klein Karoo lamb, cremalat gorgonzola, and a caramel bomb involving caramel mousse, milk chocolate ice cream, espresso cinnamon cookies and caramel puree – need we say more? The night will start with dinner, followed by live music and plenty of dancing, after which there’ll be the traditional NYE countdown with French Champagne and a toast to 2016.

New Year’s Eve Dinner at African Pride 15 on Orange Hotel
Usher in 2015 with a sumptuous, satisfying New Year’s Eve dinner at African Pride 15 on Orange Hotel’s elegant Savour Restaurant. New Year’s Eve Concert at Kirstenbosch
Say sayonara to 2015 while twirling and whirling to hypnotic beats from modern folk muso Jeremy Loops and ska-blend funk band Grassy Spark. These two famous acts are billed to perform live in concert at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden to celebrate New Year’s Eve 2015. Taking place beneath the starry night skies on scenic open lawns, the show invites audience members to bring along blankets, picnic baskets and bubbly, and usher in 2016 in laidback style.

Cape Town Calling New Year's Eve Party at The Bungalow in Clifton
When ocean views meet exceptional sound, and beautiful people and summer sunshine get thrown into the mix, you can rest assured that a memorable night is in store. Hosted by Guess Jeans and featuring the likes of Kyle Cassim, TiMO ODV, Dean Fuel and more, this jol unfolds at beachfront bar The Bungalow on Thursday, 31 December 2015. There’ll be two dance floors to let loose on, so come and celebrate 2016 by the sea with the people who matter to you the most.

New Year’s Eve 007 Party at The Foreign Exchange Bar
With an appropriate Bond theme of ‘From Russia With Love: Moscow’, guests at FOREX’s acclaimed New Year’s Eve bash are encouraged to get into gear and slip into something a spy would approve of. The eclectic Observatory-based nightlife spot is billed to transport attendees straight to Moscow – the setting in the film From Russia With Love – and while dropping bad guys is not on the cards, the DJ will be assassinating banging basslines to take you into 2016 with all the suaveness and style of the dapper and debonair MI6 agent. What’s more, revellers can expect to sample a smorgasbord of snacks and to sip on Champagne and an array of other daring drinks. There will also be a professional photo booth to immortalise your evening and, of course, a vibrant dance floor to get your groove on. New Year’s Eve Pacha Ibiza Party at the Grand Café & Beach Bar
Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Cape Town with an island-style jam at the Pacha Ibiza party held at the Grand Café & Beach Bar in Granger Bay. Located on the private shores of this much-loved oceanfront eatery and club, the end-of-year jol, which brings the famous Spanish nightclub’s legendary summer soiree to Cape Town, offers socialites and hedonists the chance to experience the vibes of the Mediterranean party mecca without having to board a plane. Revellers can get down to the banging bass-lines of Pacha Ibiza resident DJs Danny Wade and Josef Bamba as well as local DJs. The famous Pacha Ibiza dancers will also be in attendance.

New Year’s Eve Comedy Show & Party at The Cape Town Comedy Club
Laugh off all of 2015’s worries and blues at the New Year’s Eve comedy show and party at The Cape Town Comedy Club at the Pumphouse at the V&A Waterfront. Merrymakers can look forward to a side-splitting stand-up show of note featuring five comedians, including the one and only Shimmy Isaacs as the headline act, supported by Devin Gray, Dalin Oliver and Lungelo Ndlovu.  After all the giggles and guffaws, DJ Aaron will drop heady beats to take revelers into the wee hours of the morning. While supper is not included in the ticket price, patrons can order off the a la carte menu (which includes some super NYE specials), and the kitchen will be open until midnight; the cash bar will be open until 2am.

New Year’s Eve at the Barnyard Theatre
Celebrate New Year’s Eve by singing along to summer tunes at the 99 Hits final musical tribute show of the annum at the Barnyard Theatre in Willowbridge. Billed as the ultimate audio-visual experience, this NYE show is best described as ‘a rollercoaster ride through more than 60 years of hit songs’, and will fit 99 super songs into one action-packed musical jam. What better way to bid the year farewell than with a musical tribute that pays homage to the keepers of cool - think Elvis, Cliff Richard, Cher, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Bon Jovi, Katy Perry, The Beach Boys and more - and the classic tracks from movies like Grease and others.

New Year’s Eve Party at Spier Wine Farm in Stellenbosch
Bid 2015 farewell and spend New Year’s Eve in Stellenbosch this year at the historic Spier Wine Farm in the Cape Winelands. The Boland-based farm is hosting a family-friendly NYE dinner and party with something for all ages. The evening starts off with a welcome drink and a snack before guests tuck into a three-course farm-to-table meal in a communal setting. A live band will provide some hip-swinging tunes into the wee hours of the morning. While moms and pops party the night away, kids will be cared for by the childminders in the adjacent Manor House where the little ones can settle in and watch a movie.

Stuart Taylor’s 2015 in Review Show at the Baxter Theatre
Laugh your way into 2016 with Cape Town’s very own king of comedy, Stuart Taylor. See the master comedian in action at this special performance of his latest three-person stand-up show at the Baxter Theatre. As the pilot of this flight of funny, Taylor, backed by Oscar Petersen and Mel Jones, examines the ups and downs of 2015 (the lowlights mainly attributed to Eskom), in a hilarious, refreshing and feel-good way. The performance earned the trio a Standard Bank Ovation Award for comedy at the 2015 National Arts Festival, so it’s definitely one to watch.

New Year’s Eve at Nederburg with the CTPO
This year, the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra will be welcoming 2016 in style with a beautiful concert in the sophisticated surrounds of Nederburg Wine Farm. Conducted by Brandon Philips, with Katlego Maboe as MC, the performance includes guest acts by stars Elvis Blue (Idols winner), Lloyd Cele (Idols runner up), BlackByrd country band and jazz singer Sarah Theron. The symphony of song and sound is the ideal way to relax after a busy year, and guests are invited to bring along picnics whilst partaking in the range of Nederburg wines on offer. New Year’s Eve on Table Mountain
Treat yourself to a pre-New Year’s Eve celebration in Cape Town on Table Mountain and witness the final sunset of 2015 from atop one of the official ‘New7Wonders of Nature’. This majestic mountain offers merrymakers the perfect perch from which to soak up the beauty of the Mother City before heading out to see the clock strike midnight. The last trip up is at 8pm and the final car down departs at 9pm. The sun is scheduled to set at 8pm.

New Year’s Eve Extravaganza at Shimmy Beach Club
Cape Town’s ultimate summer party hotspot is sending off 2015 with a glitzy, glamorous NYE extravaganza for those who love the finer things in the life. Shimmy has become known for a luxe approach to a bangin’ New Year’s jol, while eager partygoers can boogie on down to the club on Thursday, 31 December 2015. And finally, as the oceanside club demands a certain sort of swank and style, so dress your best and toast to 2016 at this elegantly suave affair.

New Year’s Eve Dinner at Charcoal Dining
Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Cape Town at Charcoal Dining, one of the Mother City’s upmarket and intimate bistros in Gardens. Flaunt your fly style, big hair and blue eye shadow at the Piano Bar’s diva-licious disco! Say hello to 2016 in true Capetonian fashion at Richard’s Supper Stage. One of the city’s landmark restaurants will be swinging into 2016 in style with live bands, Champagne and a special menu. The downstairs tavern is perfectly positioned to provide guests with a stellar view of the V&A Waterfront’s annual fireworks display, and will be hosting a three-course meal that includes a glass of Moet & Chandon on arrival. New Year’s Eve Night and Day Ballet
With a special opening night gala performance on New Year’s Eve, this sparkling ballet relays the tale of legendary American songwriter Cole Porter, through a selection of his hits accompanied by choreographed dances. Stylish and fun, the show allows classical ballet to collide with jazz and tap dance, to songs such as ‘Too Darn Hot’, ‘Every Time We Say Goodbye’ and ‘Night and Day.’

New Year’s Eve Family-Friendly Farm Fun at Hazendal Wine Estate
Dance and feast your way into the new year at the charmingly rustic and historical Hazendal Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. The Cape Winelands eatery is hosting a New Year’s Eve dinner and dance fit for the whole family and invites guests to indulge in an evening of farm-style magic and delicious honest fare. Kick-start the evening with a welcome cocktail and snacks beneath the centuries-old oak trees before tucking into a fish and spit braai buffet. New Year’s Eve at the Park Inn by Radisson Cape Town Foreshore 
Looking for a classy and stylish way to end off the new year? The folks at the ultra-hip Park Inn by Radisson Cape Town Foreshore are hosting two brilliant events to help you ring in 2016 with some proper pomp and circumstance. For one, there’s the opportunity to tuck into a swanky dinner at the modern and elegant Red Bar and Grill Restaurant (RBG), where guests can indulge in a lovely five-course meal whilst listening to some soothing live music. If having a boogie is more your scene then get involved with the rooftop party at Harald’s Bar & Terrace, which is located on the sky-high 11th floor. The Mother City’s sidewalks are set to sizzle this New Year’s Eve with Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! Cape Town’s NYE Carnival Fiesta-themed street party. Known for its super sound, witty waiters and scrumptious cuisine, the locally-loved dinner-show establishment promises to be a shining light for New Year’s events, with a line-up jam-packed with top tunes. Start with Hello Dolly which includes Bellinis accompanied by a Shirley Temple (or two), followed by a chorus line of canapé selections. Next Stardust will rock you with their volcanic oyster, and then you can enjoy a tantalising cabaret of starters. NYE with Beerhouse
What’s better than beer? Unlimited beer, of course! This year, Beerhouse is going all out to harken in the new year with a seriously boozy extravaganza with lekker lagers and every other type of brew. Celebrating the local beer industry, the Open Tap event will offer thirsty guests the opportunity to pour their own pints from five different beers on tap. Hop to the bright yellow building at 6pm to be there when the taps open.  There will also be general admittance tickets giving guests access to the 99 bottles of beer, 25 taps, wine, spirits and other beverages offered at the cheery, beery establishment.

COST: Open Tap tickets cost R300p/p and are available from A limited number of Early Bird tickets will also be on sale for R250p/p. General admittance tickets are R30p/p.

New Years at The Slug & Lettuce in Kloof Street
Nothing says New Year’s better than good food and fabulous good-mood inducing music. And that’s exactly what popular watering hole The Slug & Lettuce will be offering patrons on Thursday, 31 December, from 10pm until 2am. Whether you’re an 80s glam gal, a 90s wild child, a rock ‘n roll soul or a flower power peace lover, the DJs will be dropping all sorts of sweet tunes and one hit wonders, so there’ll be something to suit every special snowflake, regardless of how eclectic your taste may be. Speaking of taste, it’s worth noting that The Slug will be open on New Year’s Day, bringing double the trouble with a saucy two for one burger special on offer until 5pm!  Dress up and head on down to funky town for big beats and New Year’s Eve treats.
