Rezonance New Year’s Eve Trance Party Cape Town
GERONIMO! Plunge into the new year with the epic big daddy of electronic dance music fiestas in the Mother City. That’s right folks, the much-anticipated psychedelic Rezonance NYE Festival, which is one of the biggest New Year’s trance parties in Cape Town, is back on the calendar to kick your 2015 into high gear. As always, the four-day jol goes down at Contermanskloof Farm in Durbanville, and organisers have scoured the country for only the hottest local psytrance, progressive, drum n bass, techno, chill and dub step acts – all of whom will drop beats across the four dance arenas at from Wednesday, 31 December 2014 to Saturday, 3 January 2015. Expect camping out under the stars, stomping in the mud, overall fun, freedom and debauchery.

WDC 2014 New Year’s Eve Party at the Grand Parade
Join the City of Cape Town in ringing in the new year and celebrating the start of our metropolis’s reign as World Design Capital 2014 at a FREE dance party at the Grand Parade. In honour of the turn of the annum, the bustling town square will be transformed into a magnificent concert venue, and top performers – Toya Delazy, DJ Fresh, Trenton & Free Radical and more – will send off 2013 with sizzling tracks and serious beats. A fireworks display, dance acts and a 3-D light show tribute to Madiba are all part of the fun, and after, the Nagtroepe Malay Choirs will parade from Keizersgracht Street to the Bo-Kaap.

New Year’s Eve Party at The Piano Bar
Swing into 2014 and spend New Year’s Eve in Cape Town at soulful and sophisticated hotspot The Piano Bar in De Waterkant. Revellers can party the night away to the sounds of Gugulethu-born singer-songwriter Nina Stamper and her talented ensemble. New Year’s Eve at Crystal Towers Restaurant
Ring in 2014 with style at the Crystal Towers Restaurant, which is hosting a New Year’s eve dinner and dance at the swanky Century City African Pride Crystal Towers Hotel & Spa. Guests will be treated to a sumptuous three-course dinner showcasing the eatery’s signature gourmet food and complimentary Champagne all night. After the meal, the party moves to the outside pool deck where there will be live music, truffles, candy floss and more bubbly to help welcome the new year with fun festivities.

Ibiza Calling New Year’s Eve Party in Cape Town
Seaside eatery and chill spot The Bungalow is set to transform into a party mecca for the Ibiza Calling New Year’s Eve party this year. Located on Clifton’s Second Beach, the secluded spot will see top beat-makers, like Space Ibiza resident DJ Danny Marquez as well as 5FM jocks DJ Fresh, Rob Vember, Stephanie B and others, drop banging tunes and basslines on three different dance floors throughout the evening. By far one of the most affordable New Year’s Eve parties in the city centre, the Nu World Eve New Year’s Eve jol – brought to you by the founders of Balkanology and the Flamjangled Tea Party and the people behind the Cape Town Carnival – invites revellers to get down (in costume) at a unique evening of swashbuckling pirates and parrots at the “port at the end of the world” located at the Founders Garden (behind Artscape). With amazing rigs to wow the crowds, fresh artisan food for munchies and a music line-up that promises to keep you dancing ‘til the clock strikes midnight, this all-night throw down is the go-to option for those who’ve left plans to the last minute.|

New Year’s Eve Party at The Foreign Exchange Bar
Get down in style and celebrate New Year’s Eve in the Southern Suburbs at The Foreign Exchange in Observatory. The eclectic nightlife spot is billed to host a Monte Carlo-themed shindig with a local DJ dropping banging basslines in this vibrantly-decorated venue. Party-goers are urged to dress the part (the theme is classy) and enjoy the complimentary snacks and bubbly throughout the evening.

New Year’s Eve Dinner & Dance at Richard’s Supper Stage
Say hello to 2014 in true Capetonian fashion at Richard’s Supper Stage. The musical revue restaurant is hosting an entertaining extravaganza with a four-course buffet meal and a special edition of the ‘Kaapse Stories from the Mother City’ show to make sure guests greet the new year with content bellies and jovial spirits. The spread includes Champagne and oysters on arrival, a main course of specially prepared crayfish, mussels and prawns (to name just a few) and typical South African desserts, like malva pudding, milk tart and koeksisters. After the lively tale of the rainbow nation comes to an end, diners will be entertained by world-renowned mentalist Larry Soffer and Richard’s resident jazz band. Usher in the new calendar year at one of Cape Town city centre’s swankiest steakhouses, Headquarters (HQ) restaurant. With a night of dinner, dancing, bubbles and merry-making on the cards, the cutting edge, single concept eatery (only sirloin, salad and dessert is on the menu) looks to lend the start of 2014 a heady dose of style and ceremony. DJ Jono’s on the decks, and a fully-stocked bar – Cubans included – is at your service. Cape Town’s sidewalks are set to sizzle this New Year’s Eve with Protea Hotel Fire & Ice’s NYE street party taking over New Church Street. This trendy inner-city inn offers merrymakers a unique and cosmopolitan spot to bid farewell to 2013 as well as an opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the city’s elite. New Year’s Eve on Table Mountain
Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Cape Town on Table Mountain and bid farewell to 2013 from atop one of the official New7Wonders of Nature. This majestic mountain offers merrymakers the perfect perch from which to see the annual fireworks display at the V&A Waterfront while the rest of the Mother City parties down below at its feet. The Table Mountain Café will be open until 12:30am for patrons looking for a late-night bite to eat, but revellers can also simply bring along their own picnics, bubbly and other booze to enjoy while the year counts down; do note that no alcohol from home will be allowed into the restaurant. The last cable car will ascend at 11pm and bring visitors down at 1am.

New Year’s Eve Dinner at Mezepoli in Camps Bay
Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Cape Town at the chic, Mediterranean-style restaurant Mezepoli along the popular Camps Bay beachfront. Boomerang New Years Eve Party
Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Cape Town at the much-anticipated party outdoor electronica festival of the year: the Boomerang New Year’s Eve Party – from 31 December 2013 to 2 January 2014. Known for its more intimate atmosphere (only 2000 are admitted) and vibrant energy, this New Year’s jol is definitely one for the books; aside from an enchanting venue (the party calls the West Coast Ostrich Ranch home), the epic three-day throw-down features international acts. Those attending can look forward to break-neck beats and tricked out visuals.

New Year’s Eve Concert at Kirstenbosch
Toast to the start of the new year in Cape Town and party the night away to the sounds of dynamic duo Goldfish, acoustic guitar maestro Yoav and songtress Tailor. This eclectic trio is billed to perform live in concert at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden to celebrate New Year’s Eve 2013. Taking place under starry night skies on scenic open lawns, the show invites audience members to bring along blankets, picnic baskets and bubbly, and usher in 2014 in laidback sophisticated style.

Billed as the ultimate beach party, Surf’s Up draws on the biggest, sunshine-y hits from both decades passed and the true-blue present to put on an entertaining, unforgettable show. What better way to bid the year farewell than with a musical tribute that pays homage to the good-time guardians: think The Beach Boys, Mango Groove, Katy Perry and the classic tracks from the movie Grease.
