New Year’s Eve 007 Party at HQ Restaurant
Where do suave super-spies spend New Year’s Eve? At one of Cape Town city centre’s swankiest steakhouses, Headquarters (HQ) restaurant, of course! Rezonance New Year’s Eve Trance Party Cape Town
Plunge into the new year with the big daddy of electronic dance music fiestas in the Mother City. That’s right folks, the much-anticipated psychedelic Rezonance NYE Festival, which is one of the biggest New Year’s trance parties in Cape Town, is back on the calendar to kick your 2016 into high gear. As always, the four-day jol goes down at Contermanskloof Farm in Durbanville, and organisers have scoured the country and the globe for only the hottest local psytrance, progressive, drum n bass, techno, chill and dub step acts – all of whom will drop beats across the four dance arenas from Wednesday, 30 December 2015 to Saturday, 2 January 2016. Expect camping out under the stars, stomping in the mud, overall fun, freedom and debauchery.

New Year’s Eve Bond Celebration at the Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa
It would appear that Mr Bond is having a serious comeback in 2015 as the chic Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa’s Azure Restaurant is celebrating the New Year with a 007-inspired extravaganza. Pay homage to the legend of Bond by ‘dressing to kill’ in black and red, and tucking into a decadent five-course dinner that would please the sexy spy himself. With an appropriate Bond theme of ‘From Russia With Love: Moscow’, guests at FOREX’s acclaimed New Year’s Eve bash are encouraged to get into gear and slip into something a spy would approve of. New Year’s Eve Pacha Ibiza Party at the Grand Café & Beach Bar
Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Cape Town with an island-style jam at the Pacha Ibiza party held at the Grand Café & Beach Bar in Granger Bay. Located on the private shores of this much-loved oceanfront eatery and club, the end-of-year jol, which brings the famous Spanish nightclub’s legendary summer soiree to Cape Town, offers socialites and hedonists the chance to experience the vibes of the Mediterranean party mecca without having to board a plane. New Year’s Eve Comedy Show & Party at The Cape Town Comedy Club
Laugh off all of 2015’s worries and blues at the New Year’s Eve comedy show and party at The Cape Town Comedy Club at the Pumphouse at the V&A Waterfront. Merrymakers can look forward to a side-splitting stand-up show of note featuring five comedians, including the one and only Shimmy Isaacs as the headline act, supported by Devin Gray, Dalin Oliver and Lungelo Ndlovu. After all the giggles and guffaws, DJ Aaron will drop heady beats to take revelers into the wee hours of the morning. New Year’s Eve at the Barnyard Theatre
Celebrate New Year’s Eve by singing along to summer tunes at the 99 Hits final musical tribute show of the annum at the Barnyard Theatre in Willowbridge. Billed as the ultimate audio-visual experience, this NYE show is best described as ‘a rollercoaster ride through more than 60 years of hit songs’, and will fit 99 super songs into one action-packed musical jam. Stuart Taylor’s 2015 in Review Show at the Baxter Theatre
Laugh your way into 2016 with Cape Town’s very own king of comedy, Stuart Taylor. See the master comedian in action at this special performance of his latest three-person stand-up show at the Baxter Theatre. As the pilot of this flight of funny, Taylor, backed by Oscar Petersen and Mel Jones, examines the ups and downs of 2015 (the lowlights mainly attributed to Eskom), in a hilarious, refreshing and feel-good way. The performance earned the trio a Standard Bank Ovation Award for comedy at the 2015 National Arts Festival, so it’s definitely one to watch.

New Year’s Eve at Nederburg with the CTPO
This year, the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra will be welcoming 2016 in style with a beautiful concert in the sophisticated surrounds of Nederburg Wine Farm. With a special opening night gala performance on New Year’s Eve, this sparkling ballet relays the tale of legendary American songwriter Cole Porter, through a selection of his hits accompanied by choreographed dances. Stylish and fun, the show allows classical ballet to collide with jazz and tap dance, to songs such as ‘Too Darn Hot’, ‘Every Time We Say Goodbye’ and ‘Night and Day.’
