Bid 2014 farewell and spend New Year’s Eve in Stellenbosch this year at the historic Spier Wine Farm in the Cape Winelands. New Year’s Eve Comedy Show & Party at Jou Ma Se Comedy Club
Laugh off all of 2014’s worries and blues at the New Year’s Eve comedy show and party at Jou Ma Se Comedy Club at the Pumphouse at the V&A Waterfront. Merrymakers can look forward to a side-splitting stand-up show of note featuring five comedians, including Mother City hostess with the mostess Mel Jones and much-loved up-and-comer KG (Kagiso Mokgadi). After all the giggles and guffaws, DJ Michael Lesar will drop heady beats to take revelers into the wee hours of the morning. Nu World Eve New Year’s Eve Party at Vaudeville in Cape Town
By far one of the most affordable and super fun New Year’s Eve parties in the city centre, the Nu World Eve New Year’s Eve jol – brought to you by the founders of Balkanology and the Flamjangled Tea Party – invites revellers to get down (in costume) to a unique evening of wormhole jumping at the Time Travellers’ Ball at Vaudeville (otherwise known as Side Show) in Cape Town. With two dance floors, local beatmakers skilled in the art of jigerypokery as well as the New York-based ‘pan-awesome dance jam’ expert Thornato, this all-night “timey-wimey, wibbly-wobbly” throwdown is the go-to option for those who’ve left plans to the last minute. Drum and bass enthusiasts can rejoice as renowned bass group Pendulum (DJ Set +Verse) will be gracing the Mother City’s shores once again. No matter what you call it, the much-loved golden ale is a firm favourite, and Long Street ale mecca Beerhouse will be serving up lots of it to revellers’ delight at a New Year’s Eve party with a difference. Rezonance New Year’s Eve Trance Party Cape Town
GERONIMO! Plunge into the new year with the epic big daddy of electronic dance music fiestas in the Mother City. That’s right folks, the much-anticipated psychedelic Rezonance NYE Festival, which is one of the biggest New Year’s trance parties in Cape Town, is back on the calendar to kick your 2015 into high gear. As always, the four-day jol goes down at Contermanskloof Farm in Durbanville, and organisers have scoured the country and the globe for only the hottest local psytrance, progressive, drum n bass, techno, chill and dub step acts – all of whom will drop beats across the four dance arenas from Wednesday, 31 December 2014 to Saturday, 3 January 2015. Since entering the outdoor event music scene in March 2013, the Clubbers Campout series has established a loyal and growing fan base. Thus, this year, organisers have taken it upon themselves to give the last-minute party-goers and undecided New Year’s Eve revellers a solid five-day event to celebrate 2015. From Monday, 29 December 2014 to Friday, 2 January 2015, the NYE party returns to one of the Cape’s favourite party venues, the Circle of Dreams in Riviersonderend, and offers revelers a plethora of activities, acts, DJs and so much more. Teaming up with the festival experts behind the Vortex trance parties, the Clubbers Campout squad will ensure that the venue boasts all the amenities and comforts synonymous with the legendary psy festivals.

It’s New Year’s Eve in Cape Town, and you want to do something but you’re just not sure what. Well, for all of you who are still undecided, here’s something that’ll be perfect for you. Get all your buds together and celebrate New Year’s Eve at The Devil’s Peak Brewing Company’s upmarket – yet down-to-earth – eatery, The Taproom. There’s no set menu, no expensive DJ or fancy trimmings, but what you can be sure of is that all your favourite menu items and the beer that makes this restaurant so special will be present and accounted for. There will be two sittings – one from 6pm to 8:30pm and another from 9pm to 1am – and kiddies are most welcome to attend the early sitting. Meet Joe Barber New Year’s Eve Comedy Show at the Baxter Theatre
What better way to kick off the new year than with a laugh-a-minute stand-up show about true Cape Town culture. Giggle and guffaw into 2015 at the NYE rendition of the Meet Joe Barber comedy show at the Baxter Theatre. Of course, the latest incarnation of this adored mockumentary-style drama features the famous barbers, Boeta Joe and Boeta Gamat, as well as firm favourites, like Boeta Gamat’s nosey wife Washiela and the resident layabout Outjie, as well as some new and interesting characters.

New Year’s Eve at the Barnyard Theatre
Celebrate New Year’s Eve by singing along to summer tunes at the final musical tribute show of the annum at the Barnyard Theatre in Willowbridge. Billed as the ultimate audio-visual experience, this NYE show is best described as an incredible performance where ‘rock stars, Hollywood and Broadway collide!’. This exciting New Year’s Eve sunset hike spans over 9.75-km, starting at the Dirtopia Trail Centre on the Delvera Farm and going all the way through the Renosterveld Conservancy and yellowwood forest to the top of Klapmutskop. The invigorating walk includes a refreshing glass of bubbly for thirsty adults and a juice for the little ones at the hill’s apex, where hikers can watch the sun dip down behind Table Mountain. Families can make an event of this by bringing along snacks and prepping a picnic to celebrate the new year. Those planning to attend the hike should bring along a torch (with fully charged batteries) and some warm clothes in anticipation of the possible evening chill.
