For just R150, and free for kids under 3, you’re getting a really special family experience, with dramatic acrobatics, graceful trapeze, and throwback hits that even ouma will love.
The performers in Zip Zap Circus’s latest show, Chasing Dreams, range from their internationally-recognised touring troupe to aspiring teens in their social programmes. It’s on at the Zip Zap Dome from 12 to 20 July 2025.

For over 30 years, Zip Zap has offered training and job opportunities for thousands of underprivileged young people.
The Dare2Dream programme provides young adults with a free alternative to mainstream education. They learn circus and performance skills, create and manage their own performances and coach younger students, all of which build self-confidence. The Zappers are the younger performing troupe.
Each Zip Zap ticket goes straight into funding these programmess. “I watched The Greatest Showman and wanted to be like Zendaya,” says 16-year-old Sihle Madlingozi from Khayelitsha. Sihle is being trained in trapeze arts (just like Zendaya’s character Anne) through the Zappers programme.

Chasing Dreams brings together performers like Sihle from every stage of the Zip Zap journey, showcasing the full spectrum of talent and growth made possible through their programmes.
The production will even feature the famous MOYA troupe. It’s made up of performers who’ve grown through their programmes and now tour internationally (they’ve performed in New York, Mauritius, Réunion and more).

Chasing Dreams is the kind of show the whole family will find thrilling, whether it's your first time in the dome or you’ve been following Zip Zap for years. Oumas, uncles, moms and dads, you’ll enjoy the classic sing-alongs too.
Make sure to arrive early enough to browse the merch stall. Kids love the juggling balls, made by Dare2Dream students, and the I Can Fly storybook, which is based on the story of Zip Zap.
There’s also kid-friendly snacks like samosas, hot dogs, and chips (all halaal). And if you’ve got young children, it’s especially affordable, because kids under three get in for free.
