Fancourt's La Cantina promises an enticing sensory experience

Chef Matteo Siliberti shares his passion for healthy, Italian cuisine

One of the leading hotels in the world, Fancourt, has launched the revamped La Cantina Restaurant. With a fresh new look and classic Italian fare prepared by Italian Chef de Cuisine Matteo Siliberti, the restaurant promises an interactive approach to Italian dining.

According to Hotel General Manager of Fancourt, Murray Aitken, La Cantina offers an authentic Italian dining experience with an informal atmosphere, attentive service and cuisine that strikes the perfect balance between tradition and innovation.

Silberti's passion for preparing flavourful dishes, using healthy, raw ingredients is evident in his signature dishes, which include raw beef and almonds with radicchio salad, celery and balsamic vinegar.

The rich colours and flavours of Italy

La Cantina’s extensive dinner menu marries contemporary and traditional options. The extensive anti-pasti includes, a selection of Italian cheeses, Italian cold meats, polenta and cheese fondue and bruschetta with fresh toppings. The hand-selected wine list boasts an extensive choice of both South African and Italian wines, available by the glass.

La Cantina, which means 'The Cellar' in Italian, is open for buffet breakfast and a la carte dinner, as well as a family-friendly, kiddies menu.
