Run or ride your first lockdown marathon

Grab your bike or takkies, and join in on a virtual lockdown marathon

Lockdown has called for a lot of adjustment, which for many runners, cyclists and walking enthusiasts means no more marathons. But, to make those golden hours in the morning count, Onsite Events is bringing a virtual marathon to you.

People of all fitness levels can join in for a lockdown virtual marathon with daily running, walking and cycling goals between 25 and 30 May. Plus there will be prizes up for grabs.

THERE’S A FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING
The lockdown marathon will take place every morning between 6am and 9am over six days with daily distance goals for runners, walkers and cyclists.

You can run or walk 1km per day for the fun run, 3.5km per day for the half marathon or 7km to complete the full marathon. Similarly for cyclists, you and your family can cycle 3km per day for the fun ride, 13.5km for the 50 miler and 27km for the 100 miler race.

LUCKY DRAW PRIZES, MEDALS AND A VIRTUAL CEREMONY
On the evening of the last day, 30 May, participants can join the prize-giving ceremony from home. Runners, walkers and cyclists can live stream a virtual braai with live music from lead singer Vos Reyneke from The Banned via the Onsite Events Facebook page or Youtube channel.

To secure a spot for you and your family, tickets may be purchased  for R100 via the Onsite Events webpage.
