As sexy as it is sophisticated, the 2016 Veuve Clicquot Masters Polo event invites South Africa’s celebrities and socialites to indulge in a day of top-quality polo and French Champagne on Saturday, 5 March 2016 at the spectacular Val de Vie Estate in the Paarl-Franschhoek valley. For more information, email events@valdevie.co.za or phone +27 (0)21 863 6131.
Truth be told, this glitzy to-do is more of an elite gathering than a sporting highlight, joining the ranks of the J&B Met and the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate as a fashion-forward equestrian event that puts as much stock into who you’re wearing as it does into who you’re cheering for. Therefore, it goes without saying that guests are expected to dress in their most chic, bright and glamorous attire.
The outdoor soiree is set to be a delightful afternoon filled with stylish décor, fabulous haute couture fashion and action-packed polo. Plus, of course, guests can pair flutes of perfectly chilled Veuve Clicquot Champagne with a selection of gourmet canapés.
The equine-centred affair is one of only a handful of international polo tournaments sponsored by the premier Champagne house, and it’s the only of its kind on the African continent. Needless to say, it’s a truly one-off exclusive event for the local glitterati.

SHIMMY BEACH CLUB AFTER-PARTY FOR THE 2016 VEUVE CLICQUOT MASTERS POLO TOURNAMENT
The afternoon doesn’t stop there; those looking to boogie the night away can head over to the glitzy after-party hosted by the lovely people behind the slick and swanky Shimmy Beach Club. This stylish post-polo party will have a bigger tent than before, allowing for a larger dance floor and different seating and service options.
Entry to the party is free to all valid ticket-holders, but the VIP offering (includes table seating in a private section of the tent, with private waitrons and an exclusive bar) is available for R5 000 for a group of up to 10 people. For even more exclusivity, the Shimmy Premier Offering (includes a private sofa-styled seating area next to the dance floor, food platters, private waitrons, interaction with the artists, use of the Shimmy photographer, and more) is available for R10 000 per group of up to 10 people.
