Exhibitions in V&A Waterfront depict the story of whaling, shipwrecks, Union Castle Liners, and the history of Table Bay Harbour.


The Iziko SA Maritime Museum was established in 1990. Exhibitions depict the story of whaling, shipwrecks, Union Castle Liners, and the history of Table Bay Harbour.

A large ship model collection is on view in the Cape Town Museum. The SAS Somerset is the only Boom Defence Vessel remaining in the world. The SAS Somerset, is moored for public viewing in the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront in Table Bay Harbour, Cape Town.
