Artezian has a resident DJ for after-dinner parties + a hidden downstairs area

This new hot spot in Upper Bree Street is not your average bar. Artezian is a creative space for all art lovers, sushi fanatics and anyone who likes to boogie. This black-and-gold space, next to Sea Breeze (where Mother’s Ruin used to be), officially opened in August 2022 and is an art gallery, lounge and sushi bar all in one.

DINE ON SUSHI AND COCKTAILS

The inside of Artezian is lined with art, and there’s a stylish bar and plush couches. Sit in the bustle by the bar or on the terrace outside, or pop into the VIP lounge around the corner. If you’re looking for an intimate spot for a date night, or want to have a private function, Artezian also has a hidden downstairs area.

The food is definitely worth talking about. Artezian has collaborated with Chef Maruwaan, founder of food truck Sushi Fundi, to create some unique options, such as a deep-fried roll infused with teriyaki vodka. You'll also find the classics, like California roll or seared sashimi. Talented mixologist Roxanne Read has created special cocktails, but you can also order wine or whisky and other spirits.

STAY FOR THE ART AND A PARTY

Artezian also acts as an art gallery, featuring work of local artists’ from Cape Town and South Africa as a whole. The space is always changing, giving patrons a different experience with every visit. The art is available for purchase.

When dinner time is done, the after-party begins. What better way to shake off the food than a good ol’ boogie session? The lounge area turns into a dance floor, with resident DJ Erefaan Pearce providing the vibes.
