Paul Clüver concerts are back for summer 2026

Karen Zoid, Elvis Blue, Nataniël, Kurt Darren & more

Last updated: Tuesday, 23 December 2025

The Paul Clüver Forest Amphitheatre, which is the venue for the summer concerts, isn’t just another outdoor venue. Here, towering ghost gum and yellowwood trees frame the stage and provide the natural acoustics for this open-air venue, while the layout makes every seat feel like a "golden circle" experience.

The concerts, running from 3 January 2026 to 14 March 2026, feature South African icons like Karen Zoid, Nataniël, and Jo Black. And chefs Bertus Basson and Carla Burger have curated a special amphitheatre menu, including a cheese platter for two available on pre-order. Guests are encouraged to arrive early with plenty of time to eat, drink, and settle in before the show starts at 7pm.

SUMMER CONCERTS IN A FOREST AMPHITHEATRE

Just down the road from the Paul Clüver Tasting Centre and a mere 55 minutes from Cape Town, the amphitheatre emerges from its surroundings, a space thoughtfully shaped by the land itself.

Set in the Elgin forest, the entire venue, from the seating to the stage, was crafted from timber felled on the farm, allowing shows to feel less like a concert and more like an intimate performance within nature.

On clear summer evenings, the moon rises above the amphitheatre and shines through the trees, adding a sense of magic that few venues can rival. Although it’s summer, the nights can still turn nippy, so guests are encouraged to bring blankets and cushions. Hot chocolate and coffee will be available to help keep you warm.

The paths are gravel, grass, and small pebbles underfoot, so comfortable shoes are recommended. Image: Paul Clüver

PAUL CLÜVER AMPHITHEATRE MENU

Part of the magic of attending the Paul Clüver concert series is arriving early, enjoying a glass of estate wine, and soaking up the natural beauty before the show begins at 7pm.

Gates open at 5pm, allowing plenty of time to settle in and enjoy a cheese platter for two (available on pre-order only for R305). It features a selection of Dalewood cheeses, Richard Bosman charcuterie, fresh fruit, preserves, and freshly baked bread. Pre-orders can be made by emailing kitchen@bloemrestaurant.co.za.

In the evening, guests can also choose from a selection of freshly prepared options including chicken souvlaki and a grilled steak sandwich, along with snacks and sweet treats like chips, brownies, date balls, and ice lollies. There’s even a biltong stalletjie, with freshly carved biltong priced per kilogram.

Of course, all of these can be paired with a glass of Paul Clüver Family Wine (available by bottle). There's Sauvignon blanc, Riesling, Village Chardonnay, Village Pinot Noir, Estate Chardonnay, and Estate Pinot Noir with a selection of soft drinks as well.

LINEUP: KAREN ZOID TO NATANIËL

Running from 3 January 2026 to 14 March 2026, the concert series features an exciting blend of local legends, crowd favourites and artists whose music thrives in an intimate setting. Each concert runs for 90 minutes, with an interval for you to stretch your legs.

The season opens on 3 January with icon Karen Zoid. One of South Africa’s most influential rock artists, Zoid’s uncompromising voice and powerful songwriting set the tone for the months ahead, her music cutting sharply through the stillness of the forest.

Later in the season Jo Black brings his soul-stirring blend of pop, gospel and Afrikaans influences to the amphitheatre and delivers it through powerful, emotive ballads.

Valentine’s Day belongs to Elvis Blue, whose rich vocals and heartfelt songwriting make for a fittingly romantic performance, and thereafter, the amphitheatre welcomes back one of its most enduring favourites: Nataniël (for ages 14+ only).

The season concludes on a high-energy note with Kurt Darren. A master of crowd engagement and upbeat Afrikaans pop, Darren’s closing performance promises a celebratory finale, the kind that will have you dancing between the trees.

TICKET PRICES & VIP BOXES

The amphitheatre has been thoughtfully designed to seat 510 guests, with every seat offering a clear view and excellent acoustics - creating an intimate, “golden circle” experience throughout the venue. All amphitheatre tickets are priced at R350.

VIP boxes are priced separately and start from R1 800. Each box includes concert tickets, a bottle of Village Chardonnay and Village Pinot Noir, your own wine glasses, and an elevated view of the stage.

The key difference between seating options lies in their positioning and perspective, allowing guests to choose between a side-on view, a central stage focus, or a more panoramic, elevated outlook.

Gates open at 5pm, with the performance starting at 7pm. With shows beginning in the early evening, it’s an ideal way to savour summer nights - arrive before sunset, watch the forest come alive, and let the music echo through the trees.

Tickets sell out quickly so be sure to get yours soon. Image: Paul Clüver
