While fitness is big in Cape Town, far too many people are unfit and unhealthy. Do you want to change that? Well here’s your chance to find a Sports Science Institute Of South Africa course when they host a career open day.
The career day, for high schoolers and sport science-lovers alike, takes place on Thursday 28 March 2019.
WHAT ARE THEY OFFERING
The focus will be on the institute’s 1-year Certificate and 2-year Advanced Diploma in Personal Training and Conditioning.
The centre, which is dedicated to wellness, sport, exercise rehab, science and research, has created the opportunity for those interested in this field to tour the institute and speak with SSISA Education Hub staff about these courses.
WHAT MAKES THEIR COURSE SPECIAL
The course gives students a chance to study at this world-class training facility while also job shadowing some of SSISA’s best exercise and physiology experts. According to SSISA Head of Education and Training Justin Durandt, this is arguably the best way to get the best education in this field. “To be able to study in such a dynamic and invigorating environment, which is living and breathing sports science in every dimension, is indeed a privilege for any student,” he says, “It provides substantial opportunities for experiential learning.”
This nationally and internationally accredited course is quite popular and was sold out for 2019.
HOW DOES IT WORK
They’ll be running four one-and-a-half-hour sessions at 10am, 12pm, 2pm and 4pm. The sessions will include a short presentation on the course, career opportunities in the field as well as a guided tour of the institute and what it has to offer.
